Cash Prize of Rs 1500 was awarded to the First, Rs. 1000 to the Second and Rs 750 to the Third position
holders. Consolation prizes of Rs. 400 each were won by two students. Bhanupriya Das, student of Energy and
Gulafshan Moiz, student of English jointly won the First Prize. Second Prize was won jointly by Sai Sushmitha D,
student of ECE and Priyanka Kakati, student of English. Third Prize was won by Rahul Kr.Choudhary, student of
Physics and Pranjal Das, student of Education. Arun Bikash Das, student of Business Administration and Airy
Sanjeev, student of MBBT won the Consolation Prize.
Prof. D. C. Baruah, Dean Students’ Welfare addressed the audience in the concluding function and
discussed the various contributions of Shri Thiruvalluvar to society and his relevance in today’s world. Prof. Baruah’s
address also underscored the importance of such essay writing competition. He gave away the certificates and prizes
to the winners on 10 December 2015 (Thursday), 5.00 pm at The Office of the DSW. DDrr.. M. Mandal, ADSW, and Dr.
Hitesh Sharma, Assistant Professor acted as faculty advisors to the said programme and distributed the certificates.
The event was concluded with the Vote of Thanks offered by Mrs. R.D.Padmavathy, Assistant professor to the winners,
participants and supporters for the success of the event.
