1. Dismountanysamplebeforestartingtheprocedure2. MountthephosphorwiththerobotbyclickingtheMount/Dismountphosphorbutton.3. Makesurethe“dark”areaofthephosphoriscenteredonthecrosshairsasseenbytheon-axis

camera(lowerrightimage).Usepointandclicktoalignthedarkareaifnecessary.Procedureforsettingthebeamtotherotationaxis(tuneandalignmentaftermountingthephosphor)–(screensrequired--SBCUser19-BMtoolbar,MEDMtoolbar,19BM-BPMs.adl,FastX-rayShutterandAttenuator,19BMSetupforHigh/LowEnergyOperationandBMcamsview.sh)

4. Locatethe19BM-BPMs.adlscreen5. Inthecenterofthescreennearthebottom,belowtheDNBPMcolumn,clickonthebuttonwith

an!mark.Onthetopofthescreenitlaunchesisthe“MaximizeTune”button–clickonthistoinitiate amonochromator tune. A tune screen will be launched and two tune scans will bestarted;onecoarse(blue)andonefine(red).

6. Whentheredscaniscompleted,usethecentermousebuttonandclickonthetunegraphtodeleteit.

7. Withnoattenuatorsin(attenuationfactor1),clickontheorange“ResetDNSumSRref”buttonnearthebottomoftheDNBPMcolumn,justtotheleftofthetunebutton.Thiswillresetthereferenceindicatorpositionstozeroandtheadjacentcoloredcirclewillturngreen.If/whenthecoloredcircleturnsyellow,youwillneedtore-tune.

8. FromtheFastX-rayShutterandAttenuatorscreen,Click“Open”tomanuallyopenthetiming-shutter.Observethebeampositiononthephosphorrelativetothecrosshaircenter.Putattenuatorsinasneededuntilaclearimageofthefocusedbeamcanbeseen.At12.66keV,thisrequiresaboutafactorof8attenuation,roughlyequivalenttothe0.56mmAlattenuator.Ifthebeamshapedoesnotlookright,notifystaff.Donotadjustthebeamfocusortwist.

9. From the 19BM Setup for High/Low Energy Operation screen, locate the Goniostat Supportmotions (far right). With themotors in “Auto”mode, click the increment buttons (with theincrementsetto0.005typically)todrivetheimageofthebeamonthephosphortothecenterof the crosshairs. Make sure you can clearly seewhere the center of the crosshairs are (thecenterofthebox)beforebeginning.

10. Whencompleted,returntheGoniostatSupportmotionstotheir“Man”(manual)position.11. On the Fast X-ray Shutter and Attenuator screen, Click “Close” tomanually close the timing-

shutter.Removeallattenuators.12. Dismountthephosphorusingtherobot.
