I am a conscientious person who works hard and is eager to learn. Previously, I hadopportunity to work on several different projects with unique challenges both in UAE andIndia. I worked on laterally loaded piles in stiff clay and pile driveability analysis during mymaster’s program. During this period I had the opportunity to interact with offshoregeotechnical team at ONGC and several other piling contractors and geotechnicalprofessionals in Mumbai, who exposed me to the challenges, responsibilities and othervaluable traits expected of geotechnical engineer. During my 4 years as geotechnicalprofessional I worked with two contracting companies and two consulting companies, which
presented very different team environment and work ethics. I was able to emerge successfulwith my willingness to adapt, learn and get better every single day. Even the transition fromindustry back into academia for PhD posed its own challenges. The challenges ingeotechnical engineering in the aftermath of catastrophic seismic events in Christchurch areenormous. I am very grateful to my supervisor Prof Mick Pender([email protected]) for sharing his wisdom and knowledge, refining my thoughtprocess and presenting me with very interesting research topic related to earthquakeresistant design. I have successfully modelled and validated rotational behaviour of shallowfoundations subjected to moment and presented the results at 12th ANZ Geomechanicsconference which garnered the interest of few experience industry professionals. I amcurrently writing couple of papers for international journals along with my thesis. I am
confident my 5.5 years of research experience as graduate student (PhD and MTech) and 4years of industry experience as geotechnical design engineer, would allow me to performthe duties expected of me with highest quality, determination, commitment anduncompromising work ethic.
