IntroductionThe project involves designing and fabricating a folding table. Basically theentire table could be divided into three stages, which are concept reviewand development, designing and fabrication. The folding table is equippedby using wood material which include wood board legs, Ply wood, rectanglesolid surface and hinge in manufacturing process. The advantages of the folding table to be developed can be seen to bebrought easily to another size because the shape can be fold to the smallsize and easily to store after using session finished into the small place.
The process of development is initiated from designing the shape of thefolding table by considering the function as well. In order to produce userfriendly product that is suitable to the consumer, consideration to theergonomic factor is taken into account. It involves the measurementprocess before the materials are cut into pieces before joined together.

CAD Drawings
I make the CAD Drawings by using solid works of these parts:-
1. Surface views
2. Legs
3. Hinge
4. Assembled folding table
In the next few pages I have provided the separate top view, front view, right hand sideview, isometric view for the above listed parts.

Forces and deflection
Various forces and deflection occur in a folding table: There occur several types offorces occur in a folding table such a shear forces, bending moment, couples, stress,
strains etc Upper base of the folding tale is such type of simply supported beam. The
analysis of folding table that carry a transverse load deals with the computation of
internal forces , because shear forces and internal coupes may vary in a complicated
manner with distance along the lower base of the table. For a designing a folding table it
must be necessary to know the value of shear force, couples and bending moment. I
have design a folding a folding table which has a capacity of load 75 kg .Normal
reaction occur at six legs which is perpendicular to the base and the weight occur
vertically downward. Tension occurs at each leg towards the normal. when I applied a
load above 70kg there occur in some deflection in a folding table .To reduce the
deflection in this product ,so I give extra support at the each end of the table. To
minimize the load deflection can also be reduced. The processes of bending a
rectangular cross section subjects the materials to the tensile stresses and strains in the
outer half of the bent section and compressive strains in the inner half if the material
does not fracture it becomes permanently (plastically) bent.
Physical and mathematical
In order to stop the legs to go further. I made stoppage so that they remain in
their prescribed position.
I calculated the length of the two pieces of a single leg which has movement
around the hinge so that all the three legs form a flat base after opening.
With the help of a setsquare I cut out a perfectly rectangular top for the folding
table.
I calculated the spacing to be provided when the legs are folded to rest accordingto the thickness of the wood board.

Material consideration
In a project material consideration play very important role because it show that what are the
properties of the material, how useful it is for the user. it also show that it is environment friendlyor not.
Raw material used: I have used wood, iron nails and plywood for assemblypurpose I used the nails and hinge.
Properties of material:-
Wood:-
Wood is used in many purposes :-
1. Light in Weight
2. Tensile in nature.
3. Easy to cut.
4. Low cost and easily available.
Uses:-
used in home for cooking. for photo frame
furniture
Aesthetic appeal
Looks like single board after folding
strong and can use on bed
Small in size
Easy to use
Take less space after folding
