LAINE ESPERANZATE
MY STORY
When I was at school, I was always really quiet and shy. I was also bullied and I ran into problems with my mental health.
As well as writing and drawing to deal with all the things going on in my life, I also started taking drugs.
My panic attacks got worse and it wasn’t long before I was admitted into Brookside, a young person’s mental health unit.
When I found The Prince’s Trust Team programme, I didn’t think anything would come of it. However, through the care and support of the staff, they showed me that I did have a future and there were things that I could do in life.
I started to take on challenges, working as part of a team and coming up with ways to channel the ideas I had.
Thanks to them I now have a job as a digital marketing apprentice.
Joining The Prince’s Trust was honestly one of the best things I’ve ever done. I’m now a different person.
The support I’ve had has given me a positive outlook on life. I’ve found the confidence to look and be the way I want to be.
I HAVE PASSION ABOUT WHAT I’M DOING AND AM READY FOR THE FUTURE.
