88th/90th Street NE4 Rain Gardens & 2 Cisterns were installed in this neighborhood in the fall of 2015.
Approximately 94,000 gallons of runoff captured and cleaned annually.
Rain gardens are landscape features that capture and fi lter rainwater runoff. They are shallow depressions that are planted with a variety of fl owers, shrubs and grasses that tolerate wet winters and dry summers.
Rain gardens function like tiny native forests to help slow down, soak up and fi lter polluted water from downspouts, driveways and sidewalks.
