Welcome to
Fair Square
The premise of Fair Square is to
establish an Echo Chamber-Free
prespective on issues, insofar as it
is possible. Some fringes will deny
the numbers of anything beyond
their vision, but it is hoped this
will stand as Fair and Square as
possible.
For example, to the left is Fair
Square One: Population of Earth
by Country in small boxes of ap-
proximately four million
(4,000,000) people each.
Canada is divided into Provinces,
based on the same scale.
The United States of America is
divided into different approaches
to States (for example: California
is divided into the Northern por-
tion alone, and the Southern por-
tion, together with Hawaii. Wash-
ington State is considered along
with Oregon and Alaska; Virginia
with West Virginia; Nevada and
New Mexico. Some States don’t
appear at all due to low popula-
tion, and other states, like Nebras-
ka with North and South Dakota
are considered a single unit.
Globally, my count for Belgium
includes Luxembourg, Switzerland
includes Liechtenstein; Norway
includes Iceland and Faroe Islands,
and so on.
FAIR SQUARE ONE: POPULATION OF EARTH BY COUNTRY
Fair Square Two deals with each
countries (including States and
Provinces in the U.S.A . and Cana-
da) Recorded DEATHS due to
Covid-19 as of May 23, 2020. This
square has three colours: a pale
blue to indicate a stable rate of
death; green represents a de-
creasing death rate in the previ-
ous week; red signals an increas-
ing death rate.
Comparing the size of each reach
in this Square compared to Popu-
lation reflects the severity being
experienced in the previous week.
Areas not represented are still in
danger, but not as dramatically.
FAIR SQUARE TWO: RECORDED DEATHS DUE TO COVID-19 AS OF MAY 23, 2020
Different Van-tage Points
Fair Square Three looks at record-
ed cases of Covid-19 by number
alone as it relates to different
countries and regions as of May
23, 2020.
Again, by comparing these with
their population displays the enor-
mity of the problem throughout
Europe and the Americas, but also
growing in Africa, the Middle East,
and India.
What is astounding is the compar-
atively low amount of cases in Chi-
na, where the PANDEMIC began.
FAIR SQUARE THREE: RECORDED CASES OF COVID-19 BY COUNTRY AS OF MAY 23, 2020
Fair Square Four takes a different
look at comparing recorded case
of Covid-19 in Countries (as well
as by States and Provinces in the
U.S.A. and Canada), by ratio of
Cases/Population as of May 23,
2020.
Looking at it this way, Qatar has a
terrible number of cases based on
population, but fortunately a
much lower percentage, when
viewed in Fair Square 3, and much
fewer deaths in Fair Square 2.
However, a heightened state of
alarm is appropriate considering
potential for great tragedy.
All Europe has had incredible
stress on its medical system, as
are ALL of these regions. The Pan-
demic is far from being over, or
even being contained.
Each of these squares adds partic-
ular insight into the problems of
each of our global regions, and I
intend to make more, as time and
resources permit.

FAIR SQUARE FOUR: RECORDED CASES OF COVID-19 BY COUNTRY AS OF MAY 23, 2020
Turtle Island Public Service was birthed on an extended road trip to the 2018 Worldcon in San Jose, Cali-fornia, long before Covid-19 arrived on the World stage. I had been thinking, for a long time, about how to make a difference to the systemic tragedies that keep peo-ple feeling powerless and lost. If governments aren’t the answer, maybe it’s time to activate the wis-est and best of public services: per-sonal dedication to making the world better. Salon Magnifico was born to directly bring Art and Understanding to the widest and wildest population. As well as proving the value of Art, it is a beacon to inspire us all, whenever and wherever darkness falls. The How-To-Kit will fill in the gaps. With Turtle Tim, and the Informed Market, it is hoped we fulfil the dream that began over forty years ago, “do good, and help others.”
Along the way, one fact endures: each of us can make a difference. What have I been up to? Partic-ularly this one, who has been on dis-ability for such a significantly long time? Spending more than eleven years as a Market Research Interviewer gifted me with contact with real customers and real businesses in the real world.
After 9/11, I wanted to know what real people felt and thought. Now, I want to bring some of that experi-ence to businesses and people need-ing to navigate their way in a very messy world, in very difficult times. I believe I can help.
