Results – Legal and administrative information
The majority of PSI holders indicated that they have made noticeable changes in their data policy since 2002, nearly 50% of them confirmed that the changes were brought about by legislation.
(79%) of the PSI holders interviewed offer legislative and administrative information free of charge via the internet.
The market for legal and administrative information is growing: since 2002 an average increase level of 40% has been reported by PSI holders (exceptional growth rates with re-users who add value to PSI is evident in specific market segments (e.g. property services market in UK)).

Benefits to society and the economy: New ideas
„Using our services, 200,000 people have written to their MP
for the first time, over 8,000 potholes and other broken
things have been fixed, nearly 9,000,000 signatures have
been left on petitions to the Prime Minister, and at least 77
tiny hats have been knitted for charity. „
„TheyWorkForYou was visited around two million times in
2007 (according to Google Analytics) and has become a small
institution in British politics.“
„WriteToThem has now been used to send over 400,000
messages, around half of which come from citizens who tell
us they've never written to a politician before. Simple
engagement, done right. „
„Nearly 25,000 problems have now been reported
across the UK, with our users following up many
thousands with updates, news and notifications that
problems have been fixed. „

The Free Legal Web
„The aim is laudable, indeed imperative, but
there is a long way to go and meanwhile the
volume of legislation advances apace. It is a
serious state of affairs when the relevant
legislation is not accessible, the Government's
own public information website (OPSI) is
incomplete and the prosecution in an excise case
unintentionally misleads the court as to the
relevant Regulations in force. Although the
problem has in this case arisen in an excise
context, it is part of a wider problem of
substantial constitutional importance. „
Lord Justice Toulson in R v Chambers [2008] EWCA Crim 2467 commenting on the Government‘s response to the Law Commission‘s Report on Post-Legislative Scrutiny, addressing specifically the section "Access to legislation and consolidation„, recently remarked,
