In general schools are listed by county and, within each county,
by municipal district, town or city. Mnalgamated school board
areas, which in some cases overlap county boundaries, are listed
separately at the beginning of the directory.
Included as appendices are:
A — a list of schools having pupils enrolled in senior highschool grades;
B — a list of regional vocational schools;C — a list of locally appointed supervisory personnel;D — a list of local school authorities and their secretaries;E — an alphabetical index of schools;F — a directory of the Department of Education.
Schools within the larger urban municipalities are listed alpha
betically. In other cases the schools are arranged so as to
[U
NOTES
show as nearly as possible their grouping as instructional units.
Indentation is used to indicate a school whose pupils proceed to the Usecondary school named above it.
The columns which give the enrolments in commercial, auxiliary and
special classes are not complete since in some cases separate figures
for these classes were not available.
Approximate enrolments are given as of September 30, 1973: The number
of pupils enrolled, and the number of teachers employed, may vary
appreciably throughout the school year. The statistics in the Direc
tory may therefore not tally exactly with the statistics in the Annual
Report of the Department of Education for the corresponding school
year, or in other directories. The figures in this Directory are not
to be taken as official for statistical purposes.
