Project brief

Amazon’s new fulfilment centre in Tilbury is the e-commerce company’s biggest

distribution centre in Europe, packing 1.2 million items per year.

Toppesfield provided 10,000m2 of surfacing for access roads, 3,000m2 for the

site’s vast carparks and 3,000m2 for footpaths on the £120,000,000 major

construction project.

Delivery

Due to an acceleration in programme, we changed to a new scheme-friendly

material and deployed double gangs working day and night shifts to ensure

deadlines were met.
