• Policy created in 2005 to harmonize development programmes with environmental protection and sustainability
– Draft National Climate Change Response Strategy
• Strengthened the prospects for synergies and trade-offs between environmental, social and economic objectives

Under Ministry of Finance, which is responsible for National planning & resource mobilization and coordinates the NDP & Vision 2030
Overview of the Secretariat• The Interim Secretariat is Zambia’s national coordinating body for all climate change related activities in the country.
• To become Permanent Secretariat to National Climate Change Council once it is formed
• It facilitates the implementation of climate change activities by bringing together stakeholders like government, private sector, civil society and cooperating partners in achieving the aims and objectives of the National Climate Change Response Strategy and the forthcoming Climate Change Policy.
