FLASHINGRoof edge cap flashing is used to cap or flash the joint between the

roof sheathing and the top of the fascia. The kick at the bottom of theface is designed to allow water run off to drip free of the fascia board

and underlying construction.

The standard valleys are normally installed on low-pitched roofs 6/12and under and all slopes have the same angle. The 1/2” hem edge

on both sided of the valley act as a water diverter decreasing thechance of water getting under the shingles.

Use water return clips to secure the metal to the deck.Do not nail in the pan area or toenail to the deck.

WALLThe standard wall flashing is normally installed where a non-

horizontal roof intersects a vertical wall. The back of the flashing isinstalled behind the siding or brick counter flashing. Shingles areinstalled over the 1/2” hem (water return) and lapped into the pan.

The 1/2” hem (water return) acts as a water diverter decreasing thechance of water getting under the shingles. Use water return clips to

secure the flashing to the deck. Do not nail into the pan.

WATERSTOP VALLEYWaterstop Valleys are normally installed on houses that have

different angles of roof slopes. The waterstop 1” raise diverter in thecenter will reduce the possibility of the water running across and

under the shingles on the side with the lower angle. The 1/2” hemedge on both sides also acts as a water diverter decreasing the

chances of water getting under the shingles. Use water return clips tosecure the metal to the deck. Do not nail in the pan area or toe nail to the deck.
