Policies Termination of Tuition
All Music Extra Subject Tuition commences from the beginning of the second week of Term 1. However, application forms should be submitted before the beginning of term.
The year is divided into four terms which vary in length and the fees will be calculated accordingly.
It is the student’s responsibility to inform the tutor at least one week in advance of activities such as excursions and school examinations. Otherwise, missed lessons will be forfeited. In case of illness, the parent must contact the tutor as soon as possible prior to the lesson.
Any lessons lost due to the absence of a tutor will be made up or credit provided on subsequent accounts.
Cost of individual lessons is normally between $38 and $43 per half hour, and $18 and $20 per half hour for group lessons depending on the size and availability of the groups. Students will be billed by individual tutors.
Fees should be paid at the beginning of each term. The individual music tutors reserve the right to charge an administration fee if payment is not made by the beginning of Week 3 of each term.
Individual tuition is available in Brass, Drums and Percussion, Guitar, Piano and Keyboard, Strings, Woodwind, Voice, Composition and Musicianship.
All lessons are of 30, 45, or 60 minute’s duration. Music lessons take place on a rotational basis during the school day. Before and after school lessons are limited and Senior girls take precedence. It is also important that students are prepared to commit themselves to a practice program at home.
It will be assumed that students are enrolled on an ongoing basis until a Termination Form is filled in and submitted to the Music Department.
If tuition is to be terminated – four weeks’ notice in writing must be given, both to the tutor and Amanda Davies in the music office, otherwise the following term’s fees will be payable. It is also expected that the student will see out the term and no refunds will be made. If you are discontinuing lessons for the following year, notice must be given by week 7 of Term 4 the preceding year.
Please note individual teachers may have variations of, or additional conditions to, this contract.

Instrument Hire
• It is important that each girl has her own instrument. To assist as many students to participate as possible, the school does have a range of musical instruments available for hire.
• Hiring fees are $100 per semester for all instruments except guitars which we do not hire out.The fees will appear on your term fee accounts as a sundry charge once a semester.
• These instruments are generally available for a period of 12 months only. If a student wishes to continue learning the instrument, parents need to make individual arrangements for the hire or purchase of their own instrument.
• All collection/exchange/return of instruments must be arranged with Amanda Davies, the Music Administrator in the Music Office, Joy Yeo Centre.
