This historic Bradley property and Scarbrough Garrett home include historic gardens connecting to neighboring Columbus Museum's beautifully preserved historic Olmstead Gardens. The Scarbrough gardens are designed by famous landscape architect William C. Pauley and the property comes with some of the original Pauley design drawings. Pauley was the first professionally trained landscape architect to establish a permanent practice in Atlanta. He worked to achieve the registration of landscape architects in GA and was granted the first state license to practice landscape architecture. Pauley's career included designing significant private estates and residences (Gardens at Bankshaven in Newnan), campuses for schools and colleges, hospitals, and cemeteries in the Southeast. He was involved to varying degrees in the planning for 50 parks (Hurt Park, a memorial to Joel Hurt, Atlanta) in Georgia. Pauley's garden tours are pursued by garden enthusiasts. Pauley was active in civic affairs, including preservation of Fernbank Forest in Druid Hills.
1327 Wynnton was home of the Garrett family, from 1961 to 2010, and the thriving Garrett's Home Photography studio once featured in Life Time Book in 1971. The property is currently owned by the Garrett Family Trust.
