INTRODUCTIONElectrical Department plays a vital role in the Railway System.
. It is responsible for operation and maintenance of lighting
and ventilation in AC and Non-AC coaches in railways workshop
ajmer.
The Electrical Department has been divided into two wings:
-Electrical Services department
-Railway power house

In this type of system electricity is generated by
power car.
This system is used in trains having AC coaches
like Rajdhani express, Shatabdi express etc. Twotype of power cars are used

This train lightning system is used on
small branch lines, hill area. In this
system power car is used in the middle of
all coaches therefore it is called as MidOn Generator

In self generating coach electricity is generated in
coach by the generating equipment.
In old T/L system dynamo was used but in
