8 Nombu & Annual Convention
Annual Convention will be held from September 1st to 6th. Rev. Fr. Dr. Jacob Kurien will be the main speaker. All parish-ioners are requested to attend this blessed event.
15 days lent starts on Friday 1st August and ends on Saturday 15th August. Shoonoyo lent is observed in the name of the mother of God and in remembrance of her Assumption. Shoonoyo Perunnal service will be celebrated at St.Mary's Chapel Salmiya on Friday, 14th August @ 5:30 PM & Satur-day, 15th August at St.George Chapel Abbasiya @ 5:30 PM. Let us submit ourselves to the Lord in the valuable interces-sion of St. Mary. Nercha will be served by St. Mary's and St. Joseph Prayer Groups.
The Feast of Transfiguration of our Lord (Koodara Perunnal) will be celebrated at St.George & St.Mary Chapels on Wednesday 5th August evening at 6:00 PM.

Monthly Prayer Meeting will be held on Wednesday, 26th August 2015 @ 7.30 pm at Alphonsa Hall, Abbassiya.
Sunday School students who are interested to participate in SS Golden Jubilee Programmes, which is scheduled to be held on Friday, 16th October 2015 are requested to register their names at the earliest.
Students can register their names either for Mass Drill (Maximum 115 students) or for programmes, through parish website. Please check our church website for details.

General body will be held on Thursday, 13th August 2015, at 7.30 PM at Office Parsonage, Abbasiya.
Onam celebration will be held on Friday, 28th August 2015, (Thiruvonam) from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Alphonsa Hall, Abbasiya.

SGOCYM formed a Pravasi Guidance Cell to provide initial information regarding the Kerala state Government matters like Sale & Title deed, Types of Building taxes & acts, Birth, death & marriage certificates, Aadhar card, ID card & Ration card.

OVBS 2015 concluded on Thursday, 16th July with a colour-ful rally and grand stage programs by 553 students and 71 Teachers. The public function was presided by Vicar and participated by Associate Vicar, Parish Office Bearers, SS Headmaster, OVBS Superintendent Mr. John P. Abraham. Rev.Fr. Shaji Joshua, Vicar of St.Basil Indian Orthodox Church, Kuwait was the chief guest. OVBS Director, Rev. Fr. Mathew Zachariah was presented with the token of love on behalf of Students and Parishioners by Vicar, Rev. Fr. Raju Thomas.
We are thankful to one and all for making OVBS 2015 A Grand Success.
