October Birthdays
Psalm 2 (NIV)
1 Why do the nations conspire
and the peoples plot in vain? 2 The kings of the earth rise up
and the rulers band together against the LORD and against his
anointed, saying, 3 “Let us break their chains
and throw off their shackles.” 4 The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the
Lord scoffs at them. 5 He rebukes them in his anger
and terrifies them in his wrath, saying, 6 “I have installed my king
on Zion, my holy mountain.” 7 I will proclaim the LORD’s decree:
He said to me, “You are my son;
today I have become your father. 8 Ask me, and I will make the nations your inheritance,
the ends of the earth your possession. 9 You will break them with a rod of iron; you will dash them to pieces like
pottery.” 10 Therefore, you kings, be wise; be warned, you rulers of the
earth. 11 Serve the LORD with fear
and celebrate his rule with
trembling. 12 Kiss his son, or he will be angry
and your way will lead to your destruction, for his wrath can
flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take
refuge in him.

Our Food Pantry needs your help. We need “reusable bags” with “sturdy handles” like the one shown in the photo at left. These bags are needed for our pantry neighbors who walk or ride bicycles to get their groceries from our Food Pantry. We need up to 250 bags.
Thank you!
Pie Ministry
Thanksgiving is a time of sharing. As we have done for 25+ years, we will
accept donations of pies, cakes, cupcakes, etc. for the Community Rescue
Mission. This is a ministry to help provide physical food for those in need
and reach outside our physical walls. The Mission has repeatedly
expressed how much they appreciate this and the joy it brings to those
that we are feeding.
Please bring your items to the Church by noon, Tuesday, November 20.
We will have tables set up outside the office area for your convenience. If
you prefer to make a donation, mark your check “Pie Ministry” and we
will purchase items. Our own Methodist Women assist with this Ministry.
Thank you for your caring and your generosity during the Holiday Season.

From the Food Pantry:
During September we helped 248 families with food. It is a huge blessing to get to help
our neighbors. Oh how we wish we could help more but the donations we have been
receiving will not allow us to do more. Sadly, this graph shows the donations to our
pantry fund have decreased this year:
Donations to Goddard Food Pantry in 2018
Please consider making a donation to our Food Pantry to help us to
continue to provide food for our neighbors. It’s one of the best ways for
Goddard to shine God’s light and love Inside-Out!
Two weeks ago we asked for your help to provide reusable bags for our
pantry. Your response was wonderful! This picture shows the bags we
received in one week.
