The “Open Source Intelligence Course” will provide technical information and the ins and outs of accessing and researching a vast variety of resources that are available in obtaining personal information during investigations. Special databases and off-line sources are among the many rich veins of intelligence which go unknown and untapped by law enforcement and other intelligence analysts. Discussions and demonstrations of over 150 free on-line resources to search for personal information of suspects, demonstrations of over 40 free software tools to assist during investigations, and much more. Course Title: Urban Sniper

This course will familiarize and train law enforcement officers how to efficiently and effectively operate and deploy a sniper rifle and teach in-telligence gathering techniques in an urban environment. Students will need to bring weapon, 100 rounds of ammo, cap, hearing/eye protection.

Specialized Training Course Title: Taser Re-Cert Course Date: November 20, 2018 (6 hrs) Course Time: 8a-3p This course will serve as a refresher for those already certified to carry a Taser. Updates will be discussed which will include hands on practical deployment of a cartridge. Equipment Needs: Department Issued Taser and two cartridges per student. Instructor: Pete Monteiro Lt. Lumberton PD Course Location: Building 11-Room 1108 Course Title: Tactical Rifle Operator Course Course Date: November 26-28, 2018 Course Time: 8a-5p daily (other times vary) This 3 day course is designed to assist the operator in shooting the rifle on a tactical level. The course will include low light and total darkness shooting. Shooting skills will be enhanced through the use of several drills. Equipment needs: Duty rifle, sling, minimum of three magazines, duty handgun and web gear, gas mask, ballistic vest, 600 rounds of rifle ammo, 150 rounds of handgun ammo, one smoke per agency, baseball style cap, eye & ear protection, water and rain gear. Specialized Training Course Title: Tactical Mantracking for
Law Enforcement Level 1
Course Date: October 1-5, 2018 (50 hrs)

This course is designed to train LEO’s in tactical
tracking skills, tactics and operational procedures
that are necessary for them to conduct tracking
operations in pursuit of fleeing suspects, lost and/or
missing persons and to locate sites of illicit activities.

gather forensic evidence and intelligence.

Course Title: Arson for Hire

This course will provide emergency responders & law enforcement officers with information and techniques required to detect and/or conduct a thorough investigation related to the possibilities of an Arson for Hire. Described as scheme to set fire to homes, cars, buildings etc. in an attempt to collect the insurance payments after fraudulent claims are made, this course will provide an inside look at the ever-growing problem of Arson for Hire. Target Audience is Arson Investigators, Crime Scene Investigators, Fire/Rescue/EMS Personnel and other first responders.
