Podcasts in the Literature ClassroomAn Inquiry StudyBy Cathy Olson
Project Description
Use podcasts to allow students to provide summative information on the completion of their novel
Used as a summative evaluation of their independent reading requirement
Give students a real audience for their podcast by posting them on our class wiki
Rationale
Supplement the work done on the Independent Reading Wiki
NCTE/IRA Standard 8“Students use a variety of technological and information resources to gather and
synthesize information and to create and communicate knowledge.”
Inquiry Questions
1. Is creating a podcast a valuable way to share one’s thoughts on his/her reading?
2. Could a podcast serve as an evaluative tool in an independent reading unit?
3. Could we work with our school media specialist and have podcasts put on our library website?

Reflections
Examining the TPACK value of the project
