What
happened?
Dude guess what happened in school
today?
My teacher gave me a F on that history project saying that I copied and
pasted the whole thing.
But you did copy and paste the whole thing.
I know but I didn’t think that
she would notice!
Can I see your paper.

See me after school.
Wow Mike. How could you say
that the teacher won’t notice that you plagiarized.
What gave it away?
Well first of all everybody knows
that you are to dumb to know all those big words you “wrote” in your paper.
And second off all, everybody can see the
copy right sign. If you really wrote that paper, that sign
wouldn't be there.
I rest my case.
Elvis is out
peace.
Thank you, thank
you very much.
No! Don’t leave. Tell me what
to do.
Wahhhhh!
Whoa!
What? A monkey?
Yes it is I. The amazing
monkey man.
What are you
doing here ?
I am here to talk to you about plagiarism,
netiquette, and copy right.
Why?
Because I am awesome like
that.
First I ask you what is plagiarism. Well according to dictionary.com “plagiarism is the unauthorized
use or close imitation of the language and thoughts of another author and the representation
of them as one's own original work.”
You see what I did there. Even though I said exactly what dictionary.com said, I also told you where I got my information
from.
I still don’t understand
how to avoid plagiarizing.
Here are some ways to prevent plagiarizing:Cite every piece of information that is not your own work. Use
quotation marks every time you use the author's words. Make it clear that the work you are using is someone else's idea.
If you fail to do this things, there will be consequences. You will receive a 0 on the
project. You will probably get suspended or expelled. You are lucky you are 9 years old and not a 30 year old because if you were than you would probably get arrested. DO YOUR OWN WORK! It is not worth the trouble. Even if you copy one sentence, you will still be punished.
The next thing I am going to talk to you about is copy right. Copyright is almost the same thing as plagiarism. Copyright was made to prevent
plagiarism. For instance did you know that The largest threat to the internet is copyright.(http://
www.benedict.com/info/info.aspx)If you don’t want anyone to use your work or picture
you can go to copyright.gov and copyright it.
“You can copyrighted works such as news stories, software, novels, screenplays, graphics,
pictures, even email.” (http://www.benedict.com/info/info.aspx) People
copyright their work to protect their work from people how would copy and paste your work.
Haaa! Flying pig.
Copyright was made to prevent people from using other people's work. “If you use a copyrighted work without
permission and your usage is not exempt under copyright law, you are infringing upon the copyright holder's rights. The
person who copyrighted his work might sue you for 150,000 dollars.” (http://copyright.southernct.edu/Basics/basics8.htm)
You are lucky you didn’t get suspended or expelled because the place where you got your information was copyrighted so that means you can use that information as long as you cite where you got it
from.
Now before I go, I would like to talk to you about one more thing. Netiquette is the rules you must follow when you communicate online. According
to albion.com/netiquette/rule1.html, when communicating online you must follow the golden
rule that your parents or teachers have taught you.
What is the golden rule?
Sigh.
The golden rule say to treat another person as you would want him to treat
you.
I wonder when he is going to leave. Hmmm… I could
really go for a taco right now.
So when you communicate online make sure you don’t treat anybody with disrespect because all you see is their avatar in your screen. You can’t see how your words affect the person you are
talking too.
Why are you telling this to
me? I don’t even have an email
account.Because I can see the future,
and in the future your words will hurt somebody so badly that
they will commit suicide.GASP!
Never forget that the person you are talking to is a real person with
feelings that can be hurt.
Monkey man is out! Peace!
What the? Where did the
tiger come from?
Ahhhhhh!
How does he do that? Oh well time to
get a taco.
