FirstoperabyBelgiancomposerFrederikNeyrinckandFrenchwriterSabrynaPierre, incollaborationwithAtelierBildraum,iconwillbeperformedon14thNovember2018andthengoontourinEurope.Producedby LODmuziektheater in co-production with members of the enoa network, its development has beensupportedbythenetworkthankstoacreationsupportprogramme.InJune2015,SabrynaPierreandFrederikNeyrinckmetduringtheOperaCreationWorkshop,organisedbytheAcadémieduFestivald’Aix,andproposedintheenoanetwork'sprogrammeofactivities.Thedesiretocreateanew opera together led them to take part in a second reflection workshop at LODmuziektheater (Ghent,Belgium) around the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, under the guidance of playwright Martin Crimp andcomposerandpianistNicholasMcNair.
