CURRICULUM1. Grades 7 & 8 follow the Spiral Approach in Science & Mathematics. - Science consists of Chemistry, Biology, Physics & Astronomy for Grades 7 & 8 - Grade 7 Math is composed of Number & Number Sense, Measurement, Algebra,
Geometry and Statistics. - Grade 8 Math contains Algebra, Geometry, Probability & Statistics
2. The Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE)
is offered to Grades 7 & 8. For previous years, they had TLE -Practical Math &
Statistics respectively.
3. A key feature of the Junior High School Program -Inclusion of INDEPENDENT or COOPERATIVE LEARNING.

Knowledge level refers to the substantive content of the curriculum namely the facts and information the student acquires.
Process / skills – cognitive operations that the student performs on facts and information for the purpose of constructing meanings and understandings.
Understanding refers to enduring big ideas, principles and generalizations
Products / Performances refers to real-life application of understanding as evidenced by the student’s performance of authentic tasks. (The task could be done outside the classroom.)

LEVELS OF PROFICIENCY LEGEND
B – Beginning : student at this level struggles w/ his /her understanding, prerequisite and fundamental knowledge and skills have not been acquired or developed.
D – Developing : student possesses the minimum knowledge and skills and core understanding but needs help throughout the performance of authentic tasks.
AP – Approaching Proficiency: student has developed the fundamental knowledge and skills and core understandings and w/ little guidance from the teacher or w/ some assistance from peers, can transfer these understandings through authentic performance tasks.
P – Proficient: student has developed the fundamental knowledge and skills and core understandings, and can transfer them independently through authentic performance tasks.
A – Advanced: student exceeds the core requirements in terms of knowledge, skills and understandings, and can transfer them automatically and flexibly through authentic performance tasks.
The number of hours of some subjects is beyond the minimum requirement of the DepEd
