Antiques Appraisal on TapThis Sunday at Miller-CoryWESTFIELD – On Sunday, No-

vember 7, an Antiques Appraisal Af-fair will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. atthe Miller-Cory House Museum, lo-cated at 614 Mountain Avenue inWestfield.

Individuals are invited to bring theirhand-carried heirlooms and col-lectibles, such as textiles, china, glass,jewelry, silver, toys, dolls, trains andart work, to be identified and evalu-ated by experienced dealers.

The dealers, who are donating theirtime for this event, will include LynnCaproso and Bob Selig of CountryCottage Antiques in Scotch Plains;Karen “Reni” Heckley of BettyGallagher Antiques, Inc. in Westfield;William Fiore of The Old Toy Shop inWestfield, and Anita Grashof of

Gallerie Ani’Tiques in Scotch Plains.Requested donations will be $4 for

one item and $10 for three items. Allproceeds will be used to support edu-cation programs at the museum. At-tendees are asked not to bring anyweapons, firearms or piano-sizeditems. Complimentary refreshmentswill be served; no tours of the mu-seum will be conducted that day.

The following Sunday, November14, the museum will feature a weav-ing demonstration on a counter bal-ance loom. Admission will be $2 foradults, 50 cents for students and freefor children under age six.

FANWOOD – The Woman’s Clubof Fanwood, Inc. has scheduled its25th Annual Scholarship BenefitDessert and Card Party for Wednes-day, November 17, at 12:30 p.m.

It will be held in the FireplaceRoom of the Scotch Hills CountryClub, located at Jerusalem Road andPlainfield Avenue in Scotch Plains.

Members of the community areinvited to attend this event, whichwill raise funds for a college schol-arship to be awarded next spring to adeserving Fanwood senior studentgraduating from Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School.

The festivities will include refresh-ments, table prizes and many oppor-tunities to win various items do-nated by area merchants and localrestaurateurs. Among the table gameswill be bridge, Rummy Cube,Upwords, Spite and Malice, andUNO.

Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Nienburg ofWestfield have announced the en-gagement of their daughter, Miss TinaAnn Nienburg of Westfield, to Dr.Amadi Rezai. He is the son of Mr. andMrs. Salman Rezai of Tehran, Iran

and La Mirada, Calif.The bride-to-be graduated from

Westfield High School in 1990 andfrom Villanova University in 1994with a Bachelor of Science degree inNursing. In 2002, she earned a Mas-ter of Science degree in Nursing anda Master of Arts degree in NursingEducation from Seton Hall Univer-sity.

Miss Nienburg is a Women’s HealthNurse Practitioner and currently isemployed as a Registered Profes-sional Nurse in the Labor and Deliv-ery Unit at Monmouth Medical Cen-ter in Long Branch.

Her fiancé graduated from TheOakridge School in Arlington, Tex.in 1988 and from Texas ChristianUniversity in 1992 with a Bachelor ofScience degree in Biology. He earnedhis medical degree in 2000 from St.George’s University in Grenada andcompleted his residency in Obstet-rics and Gynecology at MonmouthMedical Center in June of this year.Dr. Rezai is currently in private prac-tice in Manahawkin.

An October 2005 wedding isplanned.

Junior Women to HoldCharity Coat Drive

SCOTCH PLAINS — The ScotchPlains Junior Woman’s Club will spon-sor a charity coat drive from Mondaythrough Saturday, November 8 to 13.

Individuals may bring new or gen-tly-used coats of all sizes to the ScotchPlains Public Library, 1927 BartleAvenue, or to the Jewish CommunityCenter (JCC) of Central New Jersey,1391 Martine Avenue in Scotch Plains.

The coats will be collected duringregular library and JCC business hoursand delivered to Harmony House inNewark, New Jersey’s largest transi-tional housing facility.

In the movie, a history professorand renowned womanizer who is dy-ing of cancer wrestles with the reali-ties of his death, the regrets of his pastand the hope for reconciliation. Notickets are required.

“Résumés and Cover Letters forBeginners” will be offered Mondayfrom 7 to 8:15 p.m. Participants shouldbring their completed résumés to bediscussed. The basics of posting arésumé online will be demonstrated.

“Puzzled by the Internet?,” a hands-on class for beginners, will take placeon Tuesdays, November 9 and 16,from 10 to 11:30 a.m. It will coverbasic skills such as how to use a Webbrowser, access websites, select asearch engine, and print from theInternet.

“TGIF: The Beat Poets” will beheld on Friday, November 12, at 1:30p.m. This program will include avideo, talk and discussion about AllenGinsberg, Jack Kerouac and others.

“Mommies at the Movies,” to whichmothers may bring their babies, willtake place on Wednesday, November

Finally, the Children’s Departmentwill present the “Will Shaw VarietyShow” on Saturday, November 13, at10:30 a.m. A top New York City caba-ret performer, Mr. Shaw is known forhis blend of physical comedy, verbalwit and special skills.

Diabetes WorkshopSet at The Chelsea

FANWOOD – In observance ofNovember as National DiabetesAwareness Month, The Chelsea atFanwood will host a diabetes aware-ness workshop on Tuesday, Novem-ber 9, from 2 to 3 p.m.

Free and open to the public, theworkshop will be presented by AnnNewswanger, a registered dieticianand certified diabetes educator withthe Diabetes Center of New Jersey.

She will discuss risk factors, self-testing, meal planning and dietaryinformation, as well as providing athorough overview of diabetes. Dia-betic refreshments will be served.

Vendors to Sell MerchandiseFrom Israel at JCC Nov. 7

SCOTCH PLAINS — For the thirdconsecutive year, the Jewish Com-munity Center (JCC) of Central NewJersey will host “Let’s Shop Israel,”on Sunday, November 7, from 10a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.

Vendors will display Judaica, jew-elry, foods, toys and artwork at theJCC’s Wilf Jewish Community Cam-pus, located at 1391 Martine Avenuein Scotch Plains. Proceeds will sup-port the Israeli economy and all mer-chandise to be sold was made in Is-rael. There will be no solicitations.

The JCC will host this event with
