This afternoon all students would have received their Semester One reports. Congratulations to the students whom received
a Principal sticker. Two students from each class are nominated by the class teacher for this principal acknowledgement.
The casual teacher availability in Dubbo has not improved throughout the year. Whilst we endeavour to have cover for
classes, at times we do have to split classes for a day or part day. Students are provided with their classwork suitable for self
-paced learning on these occasions.
This Thursday is our NAIDOC Day. These celebrations are being held from 9.15 am to 2.00 pm. Parents are welcome to
attend some or all of these activities.
You may have noticed a building being developed near our Stage One class area. This demountable building is a new girls’
toilet block allocated to the school to cater for our increase in student numbers.
Children's birthdays are quite an event in many little lives. Due to food allergies we are not able to permit the sharing of
cake or food items at school. We can acknowledge a child's special day without food and appreciate you respect this for
the school environment.

difficulties.” - Helen Keller

Students in 6K have been writing poetry and this term the topic has been reconciliation.
Reconciliation Reconciliation means to enjoy and celebrate the aboriginal culture and to respect everyone’s thoughts, languages and religion’s.
Reconciliation also means to rebuild communities and relationships between aboriginal people and the rest of the Australian people. Celebrating reconciliation will bring lots of people around so you’ll need to have lots to celebrate like celebrating your equal rights and fixing a broken home into a new one. Reconciliation is the time to make our country a better place to live and enjoy our lucky homes and families and reconciliation is also a time to say sorry and forgive people we’ve hurt in past.
Reconciliation is mostly a time to create harmony and a time to remember why we are here and how lucky we are to live in Australia you should never give up once you might have your ups and downs but you’ll all ways get back on your feet no matter what and don’t forget to give and know you’re safe.

Debating Team The second debate, with the topic, Drones Should be Banned, was hosted by Dubbo North Public School on Monday 1 July. With many last minute changes the Orana Team was a bundle of nervous energy.
As the negative, all speakers spoke clearly and confidently presenting their arguments as to why drones must be available. After a nail biting finish, Orana was given the victory due to their excellent rebuttal.
We are super excited to see what round three brings.
