PILOT UPDATE: GEORGIA SMART COMMUNITY CHALLENGE

class of winners, who will be able to use our
preeminent research and technology to improve
lives, livelihoods, safety, and equity — no matter
their community’s size, population,
demographics, or income level.

The pilot is to create a mesh
entrepreneur training network,
with mentorship and
certification simultaneously in
Augusta and 4 other Georgian
cities. The mesh network
establishes digital density
across the state’s innovation
nodes for a common platform.
This scale will develop a
sustainable recurring revenue
model to support entrepreneur
training programs that serve
disadvantaged entrepreneurs.

• Crowdsourced city-wide census of food stores to understand block-by-block access.
• Created a web resource to collect, share, and visualize food security data
• Established a steering committee of local famers, non-profits, residents, and elected officials to direct research efforts and develop policy responses.
