2. How does it work

Open Apps is an Open Knowledge website, that take the form of an online “app store, …”


Actually, one “open app” can be composed by applications, experiences, services, products,

sequences of code, papers, manuals, methodologies, or combinations of all this


...They are all generated from processes of innovation that have been taken place in the UOC


a) be innovative, meaning a significant novelty and an improvement in his field;

b) be interoperable, not being based in endemic technological or methodological solutions that can only work in the original context;

c) be open and regulated by copyleft licenses such as Creative Commons, GPL, or GNU, allowing the free utilization and modification by third;

d) and have been used before in his initial context having obtained a reasonable success.

Not any solution is appropriate to be part of Open Apps. It is necessary to fulfill some conditions:


The objective is to put in touch people and organizations around common interests, in a

bottom-up way
