01
This report mainly uses quantitative methods to analyze statistics about the current and predicted movement of the online recruitment market in Vietnam in 2019.
In particular, to identify the change in demand and supply over time, we analyze applications on VietnamWorks.com in a period of 5 years, from 2014 to 2018. To analyze the shortage of human resource, we base on a survey of about 400 HR experts from companies in Vietnam. To predict the growth of the labor supply, we base on a survey of about 4000 jobseekers to add more insights to our analysis. Both surveys for employers and jobseekers are conducted in July 2019.
All data in this report is processed and indexed to protect VietnamWorks’ business assets. More specifically, original data is divided by an anchor point, which is extracted from our data in 1st Quarter of 2013.
The data in this report, while comprehensive, does not reveal any specific employer’s recruitment activities and results.

4 LOCATIONS WITH OUTSTANDING GROWTH IN ONLINE LABOR SUPPLY IN THE FIRST-HALF OF 2019
Even though not leading in the number of applications, Vinh Phuc has had the biggest growth rate of the first-half period, increased continuously and nearly 8 times in just 5 years from 2014 to 2019. In addition, Quang Nam has showed a high level of attractiveness in the number of applications in the period from 1H/2018 until now, particularly, increasing 1.5 times within one year.
Neighboring the major cities in the North and Central of Vietnam, these two provinces are showing strong growth in labor supply. This also shows that “satellite towns” and the industrial parks near the municipalities of Vietnam (such as Hanoi and Da Nang) are tending to be more favored by jobseekers.
Ranked 3rd and 4th in the growth rate are Ho Chi Minh City and Danang, which shows that big and growing cities are always the first choice of jobseekers in order to build their career.
