Obituary“Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness; come before His presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord He is God: it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.”
Psalm 100
Early on the morning of October 18, 2011, God sent down his loving angels to call home Olin Clark to his final resting place.
Anyone who knew Olin (aka “Babby”) and to his Grands and Great-grands (aka “Papa”) knew of his love for baseball, basketball, Mary (Monkey), and gospel singing. He was born April 2, 1925 to the late Paul Henderson and Marie Clark.
Olin graduated from Drayton Street High School in Newberry, SC., where he played baseball and basketball. He served in the US Navy from 1943 until he was honorably discharged in 1946. After marriage, Olin moved to Hendersonville, NC., where he worked many years as a pipe in-staller for the Hendersonville Gas Company. In 2003, Olin moved to Waterbury, CT., to live with his daughter; then to Wallingford, CT to live with his Grandson. In 2008, he moved to Charlotte, NC.
Olin was a member of Brown Chapel AME Church in Newberry, SC. Olin’s love for gospel music led him to sing with the Original Carolina Gospel Singers for many years in Hendersonville, NC., they traveled all over North and South Carolina and had a TV show-where they spread the gos-pel in song. In Connecticut, Olin was a member of the Community Tabernacle Outreach Center and sung with the Adult Choir there.
Olin was pre-deceased by his sister, Grace Bittings and nephew James Bittings.

I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give at that day: and not to me
only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. II Timothy 4:7-8
The family of Olin Clark wishes to acknowledge with deepest appreciation the many ex-pressions of love, concern and kindness shown to them during their hour of bereavement.
