In his recent exhortation, Christus Vivit, Pope Francis challengesall Catholics to be alive and present, witnesses to the worldaround us through our actions. "The best way to prepare a bright future is to experience thepresent as best we can, with commitment and generosity," saidPope Francis. All Catholics are called to be a light to the world, sharingthe Good News of God’s mercy with those in and beyondour parish communities. In the Archdiocese of Anchorage, we respond to this callthrough a variety of ministries, and we remain active in our localcommunities despite recent struggles. This week, take some time to review our brochure, learn abouthow we serve, and prayerfully consider how you will supportour universal mission and respond to Christ's call to selflessgenerosity.

6 Diaconate CandidatesWe have 6 men in ourtraining program tobecome deacons. We prayfor these six candidatesand their families as theycontinue their journey ofservice to the Church.

2,000+ YouthOver 2,000 children andteens were enrolled in FaithFormation classes last year.We pray for our youngpeople and those who teachthem, that they mayencounter Christ.

22 ParishesDid you know that 22 ofour parishes are in rural orremote areas? We pray inthanksgiving for thepriests, religious, andlaypeople who serve eachparish in our Archdiocese.

Empowering DiversityThrough the Archdicoeseof Anchorage, we provideministry to mulptiple ethnicand cultural communities,especially Alaska NativeMinistry and HispanicMinistry. We pray for thosewho provide ethnicministries, that those whohear the Good Newsrespond with faith.
