Our T
eam
Welcome to October 2019! Hopefully it’ll be a little cooler as we head into autumn ... but no matter what the temperature, it’s always good to be a part the FBC family.
Marshall Mission. I want to thank all of you who helped us get running with our sup-port to Marshall Mission, the Marshall County High School Youth Resource Center. As I mentioned last month, we’ll be supporting them throughout the year and our October col-lection will be Pop Tarts, and granola bars such as Dips Chocolate Chip by Quaker. Several students have little to eat at home and a granola bar or Pop-tart may be the only breakfast they have. In addition, Walmart Gift cards are always helpful. You can drop off your contri-butions outside the Worship Center, near the stairway to the Education Wing. On behalf of Beth Baker and Marshall Mission ... thank you for generosity. Trunk-r-Treat. We’re holding this great community event in our Activities Center on Thursday, October 31 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. If you’d like to dress up and man one of the ta-bles to pass out candy, please be sure to sign-up. And as always, if you can’t be there, please help us out by bringing a bag of candy ... it goes fast! Calvert City Elementary School Teacher Lunch. We’re joining several of the local area churches to provide a lunch for the Calvert City Elementary School teachers and staff. This year it will be on Monday, October 14 ... school is out for a teacher work day. The local teacher sorority, ADK, will be providing desserts. 2020 Budget Planning. We’re in the final stages of planning for our 2020 budget proposal. Please be in prayer as our staff and the Stewardship Committee complete their planning ef-forts. The completed proposal will go to our Deacon Fellowship for review on Sunday, No-vember 17 and it will be presented to the church on Wednesday, November 20. You will have a month to review the proposal and make comments. A final vote for approval is planned for Wednesday, December 18. Thank you for your continued faithful giving and support for your staff and the Stewardship Committee. New Giving Option. We’re looking at expanding our electronic giving options to include access to giving on your cell phone. Our hope is that it will make it easier for our members to give when they’re not able to attend. We’re still working through the details, but once it’s up and running we’ll be able to accept not only your regular offerings but also payments for things like Youth Camp or Bible Study classes. We hope to have it up and running soon after the first of the year. There is no extra cost to you and the cost to the church is minimal. Ministry Success Survey. If you’re a member, you should have received a letter from me regarding a new Ministry Success Survey. The Survey is intended to help us find out how we’re doing as your church staff. These inputs not only help us plan more effectively, they also help the Personnel Committee prepare our annual staff evaluations. You can complete the paper copy we sent you or you can go to our website home page, CLICK on the Ministry Success Survey - 2019 button and complete it on line. We’re asking that you complete the survey by October 31. Thank you for your time. See you Sunday! Together in Him, Pastor Jim
... and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near. (NASU) Hebrews 54:28-25
