VOTE COUNTERS
NEEDED
Ballot counting day for the Fitness Activity Center Facility will be on March 22. We need your help. We need 40 counters, plus a few alternates, so if you've counted before and would be willing to do it again, please email the Election Committee at [email protected], please include your phone number so we have an alternate way to contact you, if necessary. If you've never counted before, this would be a good way to dip your toe into community

GET INVOLVED - JOIN A COMMITTEE FACILITIES & GROUNDS
The Facilities & Grounds Committee meets monthly to assist the Board and CWPV Management with projects brought forth by the Board/Management Long Range Planning Team (B/M LRPT). The Committee is directly responsible to the B/M LRPT. The Committee will also solicit and be responsive to suggestions and recommendations of individual CWPV HOA Members, Management, all other HOA Committees and groups.
The Facilities & Grounds Committee is a standing committee consisting of seven (7) members. Meetings are normally held on the first Tuesday of each month at 10:00AM in the Phoenix Room. We seek your involvement in the future of your community. Please fill out an application at the Administration Office and become part of the future of Cottonwood Palo Verde at Sun Lakes.
SAFETY, SECURITY & ACCESS COMMITTEE (SSAC)
The SSAC’s purpose is to serve as the eyes & ears of the residents by defining safety concerns and providing recommendations to Management and the Board of Directors. Some examples include: monitoring the Speed Minders; promoting use of smoke detectors & fire extinguishers; improving visibility of golf carts & cart crossings; advising homeowners on preparing their homes when they’re away on vacation or extended leave; working with Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department to develop a more “visual presence” in our community & developing a safety program for residents who walk our streets at dusk and/or dawn.
Members come from all walks of life: former and/or retired police officers, fire fighters, insurance employees, military, attorneys, health care, customer service, etc. Our only real requirement is to truly care about the well-being of our community. Pick up an application and
join us or attend one of our meetings and share your ideas. Continued on Page 6

PET COURTESY It has been brought to our attention that pets are creating unsanitary conditions in the common areas. Please be considerate and pick up after your pet. We appreciate it, grounds maintenance appreciates it and you will too when you’re walking! In addition, please be considerate to homeowners who live next to the common areas and refrain from walking your pets along the fence line.
Dick Gothier, Security Patrol Manager Cottonwood Palo Verde
DO YOU HAVE RENTERS? It is required of all renters in Cottonwood and Palo Verde to have a Renter Card in order to use any of the CWPV facilities. In order to obtain a Renter Card, the Homeowner of record must surrender their Homeowner Cards and complete and sign a CWPV Rental Agreement. It is a good idea to keep a copy of the Renter Information packet at your residence. This packet contains vital information about our community. Renter information packets are available at Homeowner Services.
HOME IMPROVEMENTS Homeowners – If you are contemplating making any type of changes to the exterior of your property such as: Paint, AC Replacement, Roof Repair or Replacement, Window Replacement, Additions, Landscape or Irrigation Changes etc. please contact Joanne Barnes (480-895-3550 ext. 305) or Bill Miller (480-298-6350) to determine if a Homeowners Association Permit and/or Maricopa County Permit is required. Whether you are doing it yourself or having a contractor do it, the responsibility for
the proper permits falls to the homeowner. Thanks for making Sun Lakes a great community to live in.
