Health and Safety
Health and Safety compliance is the law. SafeTrades North was rst established in 2005 when the Northland Training Alliance,
a body comprised of local industries in conjunction with NorthTec began offering the training in safe work practices and
machinery operation.
The National Certicate in Occupational Health and Safety (Level 3) and the National Certicate in Occupational Health and
Safety (Co-ordination) (Level 4) aim to suit the requirements of you and your employees. Northland companies like Golden Bay
Cement, NZ Rening Company and CHH Futurebuild have adopted the SafeTrades certicates as their respective minimum site
safety training standard.
The courses offer comprehensive practical and classroom training to ensure you fully understand the requirements of New
Zealand law associated with hazards and safe work practices. This can include such skills as working at height or in conned
spaces, handling chemicals, understanding potential hazards, forklift driving and applying safe measures in the workplace.
Courses can be arranged to suit industry if minimum numbers are met and there are evening classes offered at Whangarei on
