Dear Members and Friends, November 4, 2015
Halloween is over. As of All Saints Day, Let the holi(holy)days begin.
Just last evening Daniel and I were talking about many of you. Yes, fami-
ly, friends, sisters and brothers in Christ, those near and those far away. And
we were giving God thanks.
Like Paul when he wrote to the Philippians;
“I thank God every time I remember you…” Phil. 1:3
As our conversation went on, we were being grateful for jobs, health,
children and grandchildren, and thankful that all our siblings talk to us, thank-
ful that our parents stayed together as did our grandparents and in addition
to that we were recognizing and giving thanks that we have been blessed to
be handed down healthy physical and ‘spiritual’ genes.
Even with the difficult days in life and facing illness and tragedies, if we
keep our eyes and our focus on Christ, we usually will see (maybe years
later) the good that God brings to us.
In I Thessalonians 5: 18 we are told; 16
Rejoice Always, 17
pray without ceasing, 18
give
thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you
in Christ Jesus.”
After all God has given us the greatest gift and the greatest good by giv-
ing us His Only Son, Jesus the Christ.
This world is so full of hatred, violence and senseless acts of self-
indulgence.
Let us be different and bring love, peace and acts of kindness.
Let the Thanksgiving and Praise begin.
Let us all count our blessings and be a blessing to others.
Let us make a conscious effort each day to share a Christmas gift with
people, THE CHRISTMAS GIFT, of the love of Jesus and Sharing the
Light of Christ.
I send greetings to all of you whether you are in RI, MA, HI, AK, FL, KY or
one of the other 44 states. Special greetings to Richard in Finland , Merete in
Norway and the many blessings in our lives wherever you live.
Let the Celebration of life, graciousness and love begin. This world, nation
and towns need us Christians to show the Lord of Love and do it with a smile
and the gift of presence.
Be nice to one another & Just be there for someone.
Hope to see you Sunday Nov.8th because it is the next Sunday that we all
gather as followers of Christ and as sisters and brothers.
If you have to miss this week – I’ll be praying that the Holy Spirit moves
you to meet together on one of the following Sundays or a special event with
those who have a personal relationship with Jesus the Christ.
C U in church, at the parade, while I’m shopping, in my dreams and al-
ways in my prayers.
With great love and much joy,
Pastor Reppa
THANK YOU DIACONATE
One day two weeks ago, I went to enter my office at the church. In front of the door was a beautiful Christmas Cactus. I bent over, picked it up and read the card. It was a Clergy Appreciation Card from the Diaconate, acknowledg-ing October as Clergy Appreciation month. Daniel and I want to express our thanks for your thoughtfulness. This is a first for us. There are one or two peo-ple in the congregation who have sent us cards (you can guess who one of them is) but have never had a gift. Just wanted you to know that we appreci-ate your appreciation. God's Blessings on You. Dr. Reppa & Dr. Dan
May mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance, (Jude 2) Pastor Reppa

“Spreading the Light” Walk
The fun run/walk on Saturday, Sept. 26 from Greenville Baptist Church to North Scituate Baptist Church was a great success. There were 50 run-ners and walkers, and with the accompanying traffic management volun-teers and safety vehicles, we had quite a parade along Route 116. This project started off simply, but as the committee from the two churches continued its planning, with all of the permissions and safety features that were needed, it became much more complex. It was great to join with our brothers and sisters from Greenville Baptist to celebrate our histories. Lighthouse pins were given to participants. And the NSB Social Commit-tee led by Emily Barrett provided a super brunch afterwards, which was attended by about 100 people. You can see pictures of the day at http://jdcaptures.instaproofs.com/spreadingthelight. Password is nsbc. Many thanks to Barbara, Tom, and Kevin Klitz, who worked on the planning on behalf of NSB, and to the walkers, runners, sponsors and donors:

Scituate Art Festival With beautiful weather for this 3 day event,
the NSBC team worked very hard to shine our light for the folks who attend-
ed. Our sales of traditional RI food (johnnycakes, hot wieners, and coffee
milk) were very popular and we sold out. A big thanks to Linda Glynn and
George Burdett, our food managers! The Finance Board had a table, raffling
a miniature New England Patriots chair donated by Brad Dexter. They also
gave out complimentary Bibles and told people about our church.
Keith Johnson’s tours of the church were very well received. It was great to
hear our bell ringing as strangers toured the sanctuary and tried the bell.
And one of the tour attendees came to our worship service on October 26th.
Kim Vernava, again, worked with the vendors who rent space on our proper-
ty. This is an important fund raising event for the church, but more than that,
it’s community visibility and outreach, and fellowship for folks working togeth-
er. Working with the RI College nursing program, we provided private space
in our Fellowship Room for nursing mothers. At the debrief meeting, we
went over our systems and proposed some changes for next year. A big
thanks to the following volunteers!

“A CLOSER WALK WITH CHRIST”
Why haven’t you registered for Spiritual Guidance?
Have you stopped yearned to draw closer to God?
Do you no longer desire to walk with someone on your spiritual journey?
Do you not want to learn new ways to communicate with the Lord?
Is the Holy Spirit calling you?
Beginning Tuesday evening January 5th
, 2016, Pastor Reppa, will be of-
fering a new Spiritual Guidance experience. We will be meeting from 6:30 –
8:30. We will meet each week for 10 weeks, ending on March 8th
.
This experience will;
Help you recognize God's communication with you.
Aid you in articulating, reflecting upon and responding to your rela-
tionship with God through Jesus Christ.
Assist you in discovering new methods for spiritual growth.
If you desire a closer walk with Jesus - Pray about this opportunity.
BUT,
be WARNED –
THIS EXPERIENCE may change your life
If interested call the church 401-647-3238 or talk to Dr. Reppa
This is a closed group once it starts.
Veterans Day Celebration
A Salute to Service and Community
As part of our church’s 180 anniversary celebration and salute to vet-
erans who have served through the years, we will be having a reception in
Jordan Hall after the Veterans Day parade which is Wednesday, Nov. 11th
,
10:30 am. The marchers, spectators, and community at large are invited to
join us. Brad Dexter and the Scituations will be leading a sing-
along. Also, the Scituate Health Alliance will have a flu clinic at the
church from 11 am to 2 pm.
TOUR of the CHURCH
On Sunday, Nov. 15 at 9:30 am, there will be an interactive tour of the
church, particularly focusing on the sanctuary. This will build on the tours that
Keith Johnson has developed. As you know, the Historical Relevance Team
has been studying and celebrating HiStory through the years. With the
150thanniversary of the sanctuary coming up in December, we invite folks
who have participated in the church over the years to come and share their
memories of how the sanctuary has changed. Dr. Reppa and Dr. Dan will be
on vacation that day, so there will be no adult classes.
