ThisSeptemberwe'veagainexhibitedgreatartworkatBenFranklinPlace.Ifyoucan,youshouldvisitourgallery-youwillbeamazedatthecaliberofartworkofourmembers-theseexhibitsareopentoallmembers.ThankstoourGalleryCommitteeforalloftheirhardworktoensurebeautifulexhibits-DianeBertrand,JillBerry,JaneCass,MaryRichardsonandLindaBordage. OurAnnualGeneralMeetingwasheldonMonday,October1(duetothepowerfailurethepreviousweek).Afterashortbusinessmeeting,aGoldenPaintdemotookplace.ThanksLuminitaSerbanescufororganizingthisdemo! Wehad40artistsparticipating,with50%ofthemsellingjustover$8600inartwork!Wealsoraisedjustover$600forHospiceCareOttawafromdonations!Again,aboutathirdofourbuyersarehearingabouttheSalefromtheartiststhemselves.ThenewlayoutwaswellreceivedandwehaddeliciousfoodprovidedbyKennyHayden,alocalchef! ProfessionalDevelopment AttheAGMonOctober1,AndreaWarrenpresentedafreeGoldenDemocalledWaterMedia.ThisdemoexploredGolden’spaintlinesthatarefluidinmotion:theFluidandHighFlowacrylics.Ittaughtusuniquewaysofusingthesepaintsfortechniquessuchasstaining,pouring,dripping,calligraphy,penandinkdrawing,workingonclothandfabric,andmore.Wegottogohomewithaproductinformationfolder,handpaintedcolorchart,andfreesamples! Intheupcomingyear,wearelookingatthefollowingcourses:
