Principalrsquos Reflections
Parents and caregivers
The End is Here
As we enter Week 10mdashit is a bitter sweet time for Tarro Public School We will farewell an outstanding
group of Year 6 students off into the big world of high school while celebrating the responsible and
respectful adults they are becoming We also look back with pride at our achievements this year including
our playground Wakakiri sporting opportunities public speaking and so many more I also look at the
individual growth each and every student has achieved
Presentation Day
Thank you to all the parents grandparents and community members who made our Presentation Day last
week such a success I was speaking with some people afterwards about how I loved the mix of formality
with a relaxed atmosphere Congratulations to all the award winners Thank you must also go to the Tarro
PS staff who worked so tirelessly behind the scenes to make it happen
2017 School Leaders
At our Presentation Day I also had the pleasure to announce our 2017 student leaders Congratulations
to Jett Kalari Kali and Regan and I know you will do us proud
Thank You
Finally I would like to thank the staff community and most of all the students for making my year here
such an unforgettable experience I leave with a heavy heart but no regrets with what we have achieved
together this year in shaping respectful responsible students who always strive for their personal best

Sometimes students stay at home for reasons that are not acceptable like
Birthdays
Too tired to come to
attend school because of a late night
Stay home with
siblings or parents who are sick
Staying away for a
whole day when an appointment is booked for a short time in the morning or afternoon
The weather for
example itrsquos too hot too cold raining
Students staying at home for these reasons will be marked as an unjustified absence Regular attendance helps your child develop the skills needed to access the world of work and other opportunities and learn the importance of punctuality and routine
