Week 3 Term 4 28th October 2014
Website www.pongakawa.school.nz
Dear Parents and Caregivers I hope you had a fantastic Labour Weekend and found some time to spend together as a family relaxing. We had an outstanding Agricultural Day on Friday and the feedback I have had has been most humbling. I would like to thank Sheree Horton and all the team from the PTA for their outstanding work. Also many thanks to our judges and stewards, those who compet-ed, parents, teachers and ancillary staff. Together we create a very special event and one I hope will be around for years to come. To those students who now have the opportunity to move through to Group Day a special congratulations and the very best of luck. To those of you are not, remember there is always next year and I be-lieve as long as we know we did our very best then the rest is out of our hands and how the judges on the day see it. A highlight for me was the excellent dog agility display. This really let the children know what was possible if they work hard in the care and training of their dogs and I hope this is something we retain for the years ahead and perhaps we can include a competition element like this as an option for those taking part in the dog section. Remember we have Grandparents Day coming up on the 14th November. As we now hold this in THE Action Centre there is plenty of space for parents to come along as well. Have a great week Yours in teaching Craig Haggo Principal
Photography Competition Congratulations to Joe White who won Pongakawa School’s Ag Day photography competition. This was judged by Andy Belcher who has donated a morning with him learning how to take even more amazing photos.
