New Year's Eve is on December 31, the final day of the Gregorian year, and the day before New Year's Day
This tradition began in 1907 after New York City outlawed
firecrackers for New Year’s Eve.
• New Year’s Eve is a night when all people around the world celebrate the end of year.
• Before the midnight the families send fireworks and confetti.
• At midnight the people usually go to burn a dummy that represents the old year.
• Then each person says the next “Happy New Year”.
• After people celebrate New Year’s Eve, they eat roast turkey, stuffed turkey, wine or champagne.
• Young people are used to going to parties, discos, and/or walking by the beach.
