New Hope
New Vision
New Spirit
Life has a way of getting our attention. Sometimes through a song we hear, a word that is spoken, an image worth a thousand words or a special sur-prise that comes our way. A few years ago my wife surprised me with a winter wonderland trip. She had booked a trip for us to go to Yellowstone National Park. But it was not the normal drive to see “Old Faithful” as the trip was booked in January!. We were going in the dead of winter and were to climb on snowmobiles to ride 40 miles through the park. We started in the dark and the temperature was –3 degrees...running the snowmobiles at 35 mph...well you can imagine how cold it was… around –30. It was BRISK! As we made the awesome trip this sign appeared beside the snow packed roadway...
This was our first encounter with a sign such as this. It was an “attention getter”! A flash point moment when all of the senses keyed up and a touch of fear moved in as we moved through the zone. Yet, there was also an air of confidence present as we looked ahead and could see our guide encouraging us to continue mov-ing forward in spite of the present danger. As I have reflected upon this time, I was reminded of the Psalm #23 that is so familiar and speaks so vividly… So, here is a version I penned from this life moment experience.
The Lord is my Guide, a specialist you know, Who provides the essentials, so we may go. He makes me to rest in Fields of Dreams, and quiets my soul by His frozen streams. And into the valleys we
must go, being lead by our Guide over hard-packed snow.
Upon the path we all journey along, His beckoning voice so confident and strong. The right way before us a path He leads us down, narrow and winding, we won't turn around.
Into the Zone, we enter in, feeling anxious and fearful, a bit hemmed in. His calming presence, wisdom, and guidance provide, a comforting Spirit that makes you simply trust inside.
So, as the moments quickly slide by, there is a sense of gratitude for the one who willingly guides. A table to share at the end of the day, a cup of Hot Chocolate, and a moment to Pray.
Thankful for the day, in the journey of life, and for the God Moments, which our Guide highlights. Towards mountaintop moments we did go, to dwell for a while in the purest of snow. It makes one to wonder what it
will be like, those mountain moments within the Lord’s Sight.
Remember, when you have your Zone moments… He is before you, it will be alright!

One great experience of being a kid is sum-mer camp, and the Christian Church in Ok-lahoma provides some amazing camping opportunities. Parents if you have a child who has completed second grade or higher through high school, go to the Regional website (okdisciples.org) and check out the camps that will be available this summer. A list is also on the bulletin board in the Nar-thex. Check with Anthony. He will be able to answer any questions you might have.
