Highlights

•A challenging year for NCVYS •Income from all sources was £1,537k •Received grant funding for our youth participation work from Big Lottery •Success in the third sector capacity building tender from the CWDC

• Increased income from contracts • Income from charitable activities increased from £111k to £419k• Surplus in funds of £89k• Level of reserves increased to £134k

• Over 550 SSE Fellows around the UK have completed programmes; 200+ current students

• Active schools in 10 locations (incl. London, Liverpool, Leeds, Fife, Liverpool, Cornwall, Suffolk)

• Operates as social franchise (best practice + quality system)

• International developments in progress (SSE Australia running / + NZ, Canada)

• 85% of organisations established at SSE are still in existence: strong survival rate

• 60% report increased turnover after attending SSE; on average, a five-fold increase

• 88% experience a growth in confidence and skills to lead

• Over 50% make 10 or more useful contacts through SSE

• Over half of SSE Fellows’ organisations gain more than 50% income from trading

• For every 10 Fellows, 34 jobs created
