1st: Looking at historical pottery for ideas supported making processes, relationship of surface to form and cultural context. Discussing the visual vocabulary
of historical pots through a 21st century eye.
2nd: Creating ones own personal visual vocabulary to express ideas and narratives. Using imagery to investigate relationships between people and examining the intersection of dichotomies.
Looking at historical pottery through the following constructs:
Relationship of surface decoration to form
Relationship of surface / form to function (utility)
Relationship between materials / process of making to ideas
Relationship between the pottery and cultural reflections
