This adventure is truly the most exciting and moving way to experience the beauty that British Columbia’s central coast has to offer. Each day is action packed with a variety of coastal expeditions in and out of the helicopters. These outings form a wonderful family or corporate trip as they ensure all guests learn new outdoor skills, make wilderness discoveries, and participate in thrilling adventure sports.

Your hovering magic carpet is the key to your adventure. Fly to the killer whales and join our team of experts. As you transfer from helicopter to boat, you will follow the whales as they swim in the peaceful waters of Johnstone Strait. Learn about breaching, rubbing rocks, and pod names. Understand the wherefore’s and why’s of these magnifi cent creatures as you spend time with them in their backyard.

Experience a world below our own as speleologists escort you through a British Columbia old growth forest to a limestone cave system. Walk through huge caverns, over underground rivers, view cathedral-like chambers, and help your companions over large boulders as you experience and conquer inner space. As the sun pierces the twilight zone, you emerge from this new-found world, again entering your private helicopter to fl y off to yet another marvel – the white sand beaches of the Pacifi c Ocean. If all of this is not enough, try oceankayaking on the quiet mainland waters of the Inside Passage. Professional kayak guides will introduce you to the wonderful creatures of the inter-tidal waters. Watch eagles, sea lions, seals, Blue Herons, and otters. Glide quietly over starfi sh, crab, sea urchin, scallops, and abalone as the tranquility of the moment overwhelms you.

Next, you’re off to the alpine mountainmeadows and diamond blue glaciers of the Coast Range, as Heli-Hiking becomes your next challenge. This is as close to Heaven as we can get. You will go to places few have gone before, face-to-face with cloud level mountain goats, fl y over bear and moose, and discover places such as Paint Pot, Silverthrone, and Twin Lakes that will live in your memory forever.

Top off your Heli-Venture by Heli-Fishing for coastal trout or salmon on the anadromous rivers of the mainland coast. Your guide will instruct you in the fi nest techniques to catch and release a fi sh while pointing out that the 250 foot tall spruce tree you are casting by is over 800 years old. Guests tell us that there is nothing like this; all these adventures in just three or four days. Heli-Fishing is for anyone who wants toparticipate in the most unbelievable sports Þ shing adventure of a lifetime. No longer is anyone �retired� from Þ shing. Mountains are mere hurdles for your helicopter. If the bite goes off, just move to yet another paradise more beautiful and productive than the one you just left. Each river is alive with Þ sh and there are enough rivers to choose from as your guide takes you throughout 30,000 square miles, from sea level through 13,000 feet. Lunch takes on a new meaning as you dine at the foot of a 10,000 year old glacier.

Then, in an instant, you�re back stream side ß y Þ shing or spin casting for Coho, Chinook, Chum, and Pink salmon. Cutthroat trout, Rainbow trout and Dolly Varden char also play a part in this annual pageant. From May to October Þ sh await the novice and expert angler. All the necessary equipment is provided for you.

The helicopter stays with you all day to ensure a secure, secluded and serene wilderness experience. Your �helivator� ride is choreographed with enchanting music as you dance among majestic mountains and misted spruce tops, to land in rivers rarely visited by mankind. Riverbanks abound with grizzlies, wolves, cougars and eagles who just watch as we partake in their daily ritual � Fishing.

The Þ sh are the winners in this adventure as the Þ shing is 100% catch and release. You are also a winner as the memories and the pictures live on to tell and re-tell the tale. Guests may take home smoked or fresh salmon ordered from our supplier for family or friends.

Then, just when you thought nothing could be better than this, it is off once again in pursuit of coveted fresh water Þ sh such as spirited trout and in season, PaciÞ c salmon. This is our most popular program. Your entire group can ß y together and experience our incredible wilderness. Whether it�s Heli-Fishing or Heli-Ventures, your group is guaranteed the private use of one or more helicopters and an appropriate number of inter-tidal chalets.

Our �Exclusively Yours� program is available for groups of two to eighteen. You have the private use of one to four helicopters and, if required, the entire resort.

NOTE: Your group�s private helicopters stay with you all day.

Heli-Rafting

If you want to experience rafting where only a handful of people have been before, this is the trip for you. We combine coastal lodge luxury with alpine experiences and world-class river adventures. This trip allows you to raft the river, kayak salt water, Þ sh for salmon and trout, and Heli-Hike the ß anks of B.C.�s highest mountain.

Ladies, luxury is at your Þ ngertips! No more portapotties, mosquitoes or lumpy airmattresses. Imagine returning each night to your intertidal chalet to enjoy massage, hot tubs at the base of a water fall, and a coastal fare best described as �almost biblical�.

No previous experience is required. Each day an A-Star helicopter will ß y your group to a section of the Klina Klini River where your guides will be waiting to take you through Class 2 to Class 5 water, challenging your spirit to complete this remote, wild river.

The Perfect Pillow

Your new home includes 6 ocean front chalets and 3 stream side chalets. Each ocean front chalet has two bedrooms with queen beds in each. The stream side chalets also have twobedrooms, with a queen upstairs and two twins downstairs. Down pillows can be requested as well as synthetic All chalets have a full bathroom that includes a shower and bath tub and a comfortable living area. All this is set in a panorama of pristine wilderness only British Columbia can provide.

Nimmo Bay can accommodate from two to eighteen people. Individual helicopter or total resort exclusivity is the preferred way to maximize your wilderness experience. Yellow Cedar, knotty Pine, straight grain Fir, coastal Yew wood and ancient Hemlock accompany your new home. This private nest shelters you through blissful slumber to have you gently awaken to the sound of the waterfall and stream.

For guests who would like to work out aches & pains from an old injury, stress & travel or simply from a hard day of fun here at Nimmo Bay, we have a great program to massage away those problems during your stay. From relaxing thera-peutic massages to hot tubs and mini-personalized activity programs we can design and take care of whatever your needs are.

Cuisine at Nimmo BayA constant source of bother, anxiety, and complaint from our precious guests concerns the Nimmo Bay culinary experience. Abundance, attended by quality and diversity, is another way of qualifying the tidal wave of nutrients Nimmo Bayer�s have to contend with in order to face the adventures scheduled for each day.

Our Machiavellian team of chefs specialize in persuading prodigious amounts of only the freshest local fare to let itself be engulfed by unsuspecting guests. The resulting level of satiety and contentment usually whittle away at our diner�s resolve to abstain from dessert (usually by day one). After all, only the certiÞ able would back away from cleverly conceived lures designated by such appella-tions as � Glorious Frozen White Chocolate Cheesecake� or �The Friendly Trio of Chocolate Trufß e and Liqueur Torte� Helicoptering away will not solve this girth-shattering predicament as our maniacal chefs pursue you river low and mountain high with a deluxe gourmet spread, which they insist upon calling a �simple picnic�.

All indulgence aside, healthy cooking is a big part of what we do. We emphasize the use of fresh herbs and locally grown, organic produce. We also acknowledge health concerns and speciÞ c dietary needs of all of our guests, so please be sure to notify our ofÞ ce well before departing for Nimmo Bay so that we may have the necessary ingredients and preparation in order on your arrival.

To be fair to our proliÞ c galley, it has been given the improbable assignment to match its cui-sine with Nimmo Bay�s full menu of spectacular sceneries and emotion-seeking odysseys. This, much to our delight, has been achieved admirably in our own levitating, tide-riding front room.

Wilderness WinesTo accompany our culinary creations we have chosen the best of British Columbia wines to please your palette. A varietal se-lection of red, white, bubbly, and ice wine can be paired with your evening meal. Our vin de la maison is also served on top of the world.

Our maitre d� can suggest a perfect match for entrees such as drunken salmon, dungeness crab and other spectacular evening creations. We have a memorable selection of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and interesting bottles from Venturi Schulze & Blue Mountain wineries.

To complete your dining experience we suggest a glass of our unique BC ice wine. Our selection of ice wine includes Pinot Noir, Merlot, Reisling and Chardonnay. These are very sweet and are usually served very cold after a complete meal. However, on occasion, an ice wine can accompany an appetizer.

For those special occasions Nimmo Bay has chosen a wonderful array of sparkling wine. Our Brut Natural and Rosé are a compliment to any Þ ne toast. A specialty wine menu featuring rare wines and verticals is also available. This select list is available for your perusal at the lodge.

The presence of Nimmo Bay�s natural, cool, clear waterfall cascading from the top of 5000 foot Mount Stephens was the primary reason that this spot was chosen to establish a world class adventure resort. We are remote, wild, and pristine. Nimmo Bay Resort has set the standard whereby our natural environment will remain green and unblemished by human visitation. In our stewardship of the land we have taken on the responsibility of preserving nature for our present and future clients as well as our children.

In 1982 Nimmo Bay celebrated the installation of a water-powered turbine. The waterfall has continued to supply this generator with the balance of our power requirements ever since.

The year 2000 saw the implementation of a state of the art waste water management system. We have been recycling since 1981, and because of our policy we have never exposed wild animals to a need for our food.

Ecologically sound cleaning products are used for all of Nimmo Bay�s needs.

In 1984 we started using helicopters as our prime mode of transport and commenced our 100% catch and release angling policy. Now the fish go free and no evidence of our presence is felt. We leave nothing behind when we visit our snow-capped mountaintops and abundant valleys so that others who return to this precious resource will have the same wonderful rendezvous with nature. Guests of Nimmo Bay take nothing but memories to live by and remember.

In 1999 Nimmo Bay Resort won British Columbia�s Environmental Award for Industry, Business and Labour.

For those of you coming to Nimmo Bay for your adventure of a lifetime, the quickest way to reach us is to ß y to Vancouver. Take the airline of your choice, arriving in Vancouver before 15:00 hours, then connecting with PaciÞ c Coastal Airlines, which will depart for Port Hardy at approximately 17:00 from the South Terminal of the Vancouver Airport. We will be happy to make these reservations for you.

The ß ight time from Vancouver to Port Hardy is one hour. Our helicopters will meet you there for the twenty-minute ß ight to Nimmo Bay. Transportation costs to Port Hardy are the responsibility of our guests.

For those who wish to ß y their private aircraft to Port Hardy (YZT), there are refueling

and aircraft storage facilities available (Esso 122.95). Contact us for details. Port Hardy has a 5000-foot grooved runway with ILS facilities.

Aircraft up to 737s can be accommodated at Port Hardy with prior customs clearance (1-888-CANPASS). Private ß oat planes can land and be secured right in Nimmo Bay. Float plane service is available from both Vancouver and Seattle directly to Nimmo Bay.
