• Egypt is famous for its unique musical heritage.• Egyptian music had a great influence on both ancient Greek and middle-
eastern music.• Ancient monuments and archeological sites reveal that music has always
been an integral part of the Egyptian history.

• Egyptian music – as the rest of Arabic music – is manly made of “Maqamat” and “Iqa’at”.
• Maqmat represents the tone of the Egyptian music.• Iqa’at represents the rhythm of the music.

• Egyptian – Western music also known as modern Egyptian music. It was first introduced by Giuseppe Verdi’s famous score “Aida” and later modified by the famous composer Mohamed Abdel Wahab to be more of a blend between Western culture and Egyptian tradition.
