SCT 2014 COMPANY BIOS
Sarah Ackerman is a junior BFA student with a focus in stage management. She is the stage manager for Ruthless!, The Weird and The Summer Circle. She has recently stage managed William Shakespeare’s Land of the Dead and Cyrano de Bergerac and the upcoming CARRIE the musical. She works professionally with Peanut Gallery Players at Meadowbrook Theatre and will SM The Wiz in August.
Ryan Bennett is a recent BFA graduate in Acting. He was most recently seen in Cyrano De Bergerac as Ragueneau. He is sad to leave MSU but excited to travel to Hino, Japan to teach English in the fall. His success here and in the future would not be possible without the support of his friends, family, and the faculty here at State.
Beau Bielski will be a senior BFA in Acting. He was seen in MSU's previous shows Three Sisters, U.P, Widows, and Cyrano De Bergerac.
Sarah Botruff is a senior in the BFA program focusing in stage management and costume design. This past year she stage managed Widows, Peter Pan and Young Playwrights Festival and is also excited to stage manage Les Liaisons Dangereuses and Hair this coming year.
Jake Brozovich, BFA in Production Design is in his third year doing SCT working in the scene shop and is very excited for the shows this summer!
Brianna Buckley is a recent graduate of MSU with a BFA in Acting. She performed in Widows, Rough Magic and as assistant director for Peter Pan this past season. She plans on starting her career in Chicago this coming August.
Kenzie Carpenter is a Junior BFA Lighting Design student at MSU. This is her first time working as a set designer and props master. Kenzie’s next lighting design will be for the DOT’s production of Strange Interlude in the spring of 2015.
Hernando Claros just completed his first year as an MFA in Production Design at MSU. His most recent lighting design credits include Brought Into Being, The Serpent Lady, and projection engineer for Giving Birth: The Adventure of Thought. Next season he will be designing media and lighting for 60/50 Theatre Project and Macbeth. He is very happy to work for SCT as a set designer for What I Did Last Summer and as resident props master.
Mark Colson is an Assistant Professor of Media Acting at MSU. He just recently played the title role in Cyrano De Bergerac at MSU and directed a workshop production of True West at Williamston Theatre.
Kirk Domer is the Chairperson and Associate Professor of Scene Design and Producer of SCT at MSU. He has designed and/or technical directed many shows for SCT including Chaucer in Rome, The Sleeper, Bus Stop and Blithe Spirit. Kirk has been with SCT (on and off) for eleven summers.
Caitlin Dunlap is a senior BFA in Acting at MSU. She is thrilled to be making her SCT debut in Ruthless! and The Weird. Caitlin was last in Cyrano De Bergerac and as Calliope in Xanadu. Caitlin is also excited to begin work on the fall musical, CARRIE the musical, in which she will be playing Carrie. She would like to thank her family for all their support.
Stephanie Eubank is a MFA in Production Design Candidate. Her design credits include: The Serpent Lady (MSU DOT), House of Blue Leaves and She Stoops to Conquer (Marymount Manhattan College). Her future designs for MSU DOT’s 2014-15 season include CARRIE the musical and Macbeth. Stephanie hopes to join the costume design faculty at an accredited university.
Sarah Goeke, a third year MFA Actor, is originally from Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Recent productions include Roxanne in Cyrano de Bergerac, Kate in Shakespeare’s Land of the Dead, the Governess in Turn of the Screw, and Lisabette in Anton in Show Business. Sarah loves being a part of the SCT ensemble and hopes you enjoy the show!
Stacey Greisinger graduated from University of Phoenix in 2011 with an Associate’s Degree in Arts. She brings her many years of business experience to the DOT and SCT as the Assistant to the Chair and Graduate Secretary.
Michael Hays couldn’t be more thrilled to be working with this incredibly talented group of young performers and the brilliant instructors that guide them! Fresh off an exhilarating time with the MSU Young Playwright’s Festival, Michael can’t believe what a wonderful summer he’s having! Thanks to everyone at MSU for making me feel so welcome and giving me this awesome opportunity!
Andrew Head has just completed his second year at MSU as an MFA in Acting candidate. He was last seen as Austin in True West at the Williamston Theatre, and will next appear at Danceny in MSU DOT’s upcoming fall production of Les Liaisons Dangereuses. Love always to Kat.
Daniel Huston is a third year MFA in Production Design candidate, concentrating in lighting and costume design. He has worked professionally at Williamston Theatre, The Ohio Light Opera and Theatre Square. His most recent production credits include props master for MSU DOT’s production of Peter Pan and lighting designer for The Lion in Winter at Williamston Theatre.
Lela Ivey appeared onstage in the MSU DOT’s production of Babes in Arms. She is very excited to be making her SCT debut. She last appeared onstage in Peppermint Creek’s production of Other Desert Cities. Thank you to Lynn and a wonderful cast and crew. Mosquitoes? Bring it!
Elishia Johnson is a junior majoring in Media and Information with a minor in theatre (technical and design) and information technology. Previously, she was on run crew for Cyrano De Bergerac and loved every minute of it! She looks forward to her future endeavors with the MSU DOT!
Karen Kangas-Preston is the senior Academic Specialist of Costume Design and Technology; has her BFA from University of Minnesota-Duluth and MFA from Illinois State University. Karen has been with SCT for fourteen summers. Costume Designer for What I Did Last Summer and The Summer Circle.
Amy Klapko graduated (with honors) from MSU in 1998 with a BA in Theatre, English and Communications. Amy brings her many years of administrative experience employed in local government and the cultural sector to the DOT and SCT as the fiscal officer.
Lauren Kreuer is a 6th grader at Dewitt Herbison Woods. Lauren studies voice, acting and dance at the Studio of Performing Arts Center (SPA) in East Lansing, MI. She has performed in several SPA performances including Fairy Tales and Other Stories, Other Side of the Rainbow, and Tall Tales from Long Ago.
Lynn Lammers is the Artistic Associate at the Williamston Theatre, Artistic Coordinator for the MSU Office for Inclusion, and a freelance director. She received her MA degree from the MSU DOT in 2009 and is a member of the Lincoln Center Directors Lab.
Lyndsay Manson is a senior in the BFA Acting program. She was most recently seen in Rough Magic as Caliban and the DOT’s production of The Serpent Lady as Togrul. This is her first production as an Assistant Stage Manager.
Sarah Matthews is a Theatre major entering her senior year in the BFA Acting program. She was last seen in the Wharton Center Young Playwrights Festival as Allie in Hex Girlfriends and Margaret in Love by Chance.
Deric McNish is an Assistant Professor of Acting, Voice and Speech at MSU. In the DOT he recently directed Off With Her Head and will direct Hair in spring 2015.
Anna Morreale graduated in May with her BFA in Acting from MSU. She is moving to New York at the end of the summer to pursue a career in acting. Anna is thrilled to be finishing up her MSU career with SCT!
Mandy Myers is a recent graduate of MSU, earning her BFA in Acting. She was recently seen in All New People, U.P, and Legally Blonde in her time at State. She plans on relocating to Los Angeles. Mandy would like to thank her family, friends, and cats for their unwavering support.
Kara O'Connor is a senior BFA in Acting at MSU who was last seen as Brighella in the Serpent Lady and multiple roles in the Young Playwrights Festival. She is thrilled to be working on a Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa play as three very strange and dynamic characters. Enjoy the festivities – it's about to get WEIRD.
Dionne O’Dell received an MA (summa cum laude) in Theatre Education from the University of South Carolina in 2000 and a BA in Theatre and English (magna cum laude) from Central Michigan University in 1993. She brings her many years of outreach and engagement experience to the DOT and SCT.
Jenna Jo Pawlicki recently graduated with her BA in Theatre. Her DOT credits include The Serpent Lady, Kira in Xanadu, Funny Girl, Movement Coach for U.P., and Boundless Dance Concert. She is thrilled to have one last adventure with her MSU theatre family.
Jason Painter Price is a sound designer, composer, and performer. Recently he designed sound for a performance at the Metropolitan Museum of Art where he is an Artist in Residence. The Village Voice called his work "unforgettable", and the New York Times called him "comically gifted."
Katie Raynard is a senior studying Apparel and Textile design. She is from Pickford MI. This past year in the annual ATD Fashion Show she won the Conceptual Design Award for one of her submitted pieces. In her free time she enjoys figure skating and has been on the MSU Figure Skating Team.
Rob Roznowski is an Associate Professor and Artistic Director for MSU DOT. He has directed many shows for SCT including A Day in Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine, The Drunken City and Around the World in 80 Days.
Mark Schenfisch is a Senior BFA in Acting from Casper, WY. In his first summer away from home, Mark is excited to join the cast of SCT. Most recently seen as John in Peter Pan, Mark will take to the Pasant stage again as Stokes in MSU DOT’s fall production of CARRIE the musical.
Katherine Schooler is a Senior BFA, Dance Minor, South Lyon, MI. This is Katherine's first year as a part of SCT and she has had nothing but fun creating art with this amazing company. She was last seen in MSU DOT's productions of The Serpent Lady and Xanadu. Katherine sends her love to Conor and her family.
Madelayne Shammas is thrilled to be joining the casts of The Summer Circle and The Weird. This is her first time in SCT and she would like to thank Kirill Sheynerman and her family for all of their support. Madelayne will be appearing next in MSU’s production of CARRIE the musical this fall!
Kelly Stuible is excited for her first collaboration with MSU's SCT. She's also worked professionally with the McLeod Summer Playhouse and Cornwell's Dinner Theater. Kelly holds an MM in Opera and Musical Theater Performance and teaches music and musical theatre at Lansing Community College.
Cory Weatherup is a senior with a major in Advertising. He is so excited to be a cast member of The Weird and What I Did Last Summer. This is his first time in SCT and he feels so blessed to have worked with such incredible people.
Angie Wendelberger is currently the costume technologist for MSU DOT. Her last costume design for the DOT was “Cirque Noir” for the spring 2014 dance concert Brought into Being. She has been involved with SCT (on and off) as an actor and designer since 1997… and loves every minute of it!
Dave Wendelberger is delighted to work with the tight-knit, vocally-rich cast of Ruthless!. He recently worked as musical director/pit conductor for Peter Pan and Xanadu. He is honored to say his first SCT project was in 2005 as Millet in Is He Dead? directed by Frank Rutledge.
Elspeth Williams recently graduated with a BFA in theatre design at the University of South Florida. She has designed costumes and sets for The Lover, Anna in the Tropics, and The Jacket. She is currently working on the costume design for Les Liaisons Dangereuses and pursing her MFA in Production Design here at MSU.

WurSTdean oF The College oF arTS and leTTerS:Now in its 54th year, the Summer Circle Theatre has become a much appreciated and beloved MSU fixture that annually draws up to 400 people a night to the free performances. This exciting additional outdoor performance space is being made possible by
private donations by our wonderfully engaged supporters of the Department of Theatre. Expanding the teaching and learning opportunities for many arts-related initiatives on campus, the new attractive space will significantly contribute to the visibility of the arts on campus and add to a vibrant cultural climate for the community.
