Whether you are a novice or an experienced rider the skillsdays will leave you feeling more confident and help you get the most out of biking.All the courses are run by our qualified mountain bike leaders who are dedicated inhelping you get the most out of the weekend.
All our mountain bike courses take place at Glentress Forest in the Scottish Borders. Thisis the flagship 7Stanes venue and offers fantastic skills areas, great trails of every level, thefamous Hub Cafe and a great bike shop. All groups are a maximum of 6 people so theguides can give you more personalised service.

INTRODUCTORY COURSE
This course is aimed at beginners andthose with limited off-road ridingexperience. The weekend will teach youthe techniques required to competentlyride the fantastic trails in Glentress.The course covers safety and trailetiquette, bike set-up and riding position,braking, climbing, descending andcornering.
INTERMEDIATE COURSE
Our intermediate course is aimed at thosewith previous riding experience, it is theperfect follow on to the IntroductoryCourse. You will learn skills to progressand ride the more challenging trails atGlentress. The course concentrates onriding drop-offs, roots and rocks as mostof the day will be spent on red routes butaim for some black sections to wrap thingsup.

The courses are hands on and we use acombination of short theory sessions,practical exercises, and riding of selectedsections of trail to reinforce everything weteach. In our experience this is a lot of funand delivers great results. What follows isa brief outline of what to expect over thecourse. Some areas may be coveredformally while others might be doneinformally over a coffee or snack. Everygroup is different and we will tailor theprogram slightly to meet individual needs.What is guaranteed is that the day will becrammed full of useful hints, tips and goodlaughs.
We offer the course in either a 1 dayor a 2 day option ( we recommend the2 day course as you will get morepersonalised tuition and gain moreexperience in skills). There is plentyof accommdoation available inPeebles.

EquipmentA mountain bike in good condition isessential. You can either ride with ahardtail or a full suspension bike. Yourinformation pack has a detailed suggestedequipment list which includes standardmountain biking gear such as helmet,cycling clothes, warm and waterproofclothes and a day pack.
Bike HireDont worry if you don't have a bike as wecan organise bike hire for the courses.The hire is an option as you go through thebooking system.
AvailabilityWe offer both courses between the monthsof March and November. Availability islimited to 6 people per course so earlybooking is advisable.
