The  song  I  chose  is  Changes  in  Latitudes,  Changes  in  Attitudes  by  Jimmy  Buffett.  I

have  always  been  able  to  connect  with  any  Jimmy  Buffett  song  throughout  my  life.  I

always  find  him  soothing  and  relaxing.    Throughout  the  song  there  is  always  a  talk  of

change.  Going  from  one  place  too  another,  or  just  doing  something  that  you  don’t

usually  do  one  a  day-‐to-‐day  basis.  Change  keeps  us  from  getting  too  boring  and

doing  the  same  thing  everyday.  Also  in  the  verse  there  is  talk  about  people  always

rushing  around  and  always  being  busy.  In  the  first  picture  you  see  Speedway’s  gas

prices.  This  picture  fits  well  with  the  song  because  it’s  about  change.  Gas  prices  in

today’s  society  are  always  changing.  The  second  picture  is  of  a  Chili’s  restaurant  and

the  “To  Go”  option  they  offer.  The  picture  symbolizes  the  constant  rush  of  everyone

in  society  today.  People  can’t  even  sit  down  at  a  restaurant  to  eat.  They  just  call  it  in

and  take  it  home  to  eat.  The  third  picture  is  of  two  road  arrows.  This  picture

symbolizes  the  constant  direction  of  people.  In  life  there  are  no  arrows  and  if  there

are  in  your  own  you  need  to  change  that  and  take  a  new  path  everyone  once  in

awhile.  The  fourth  picture  is  of  some  leaves.  This  picture  indicates  the  change  in  the

color  of  the  leaves  from  the  seasons.  This  also  shows  that  everything  changes.  The

final  picture  is  from  Yellowwood  State  Forest.  These  trees  symbolize  the  changing  of

the  leaves.  Also  the  trees  seem  to  create  many  different  paths  and  in  life  you’ll  have

many  to  choose  from.

Al  McGuire     Visual  Aesthetic    The  visual  aesthetic  that  comes  to  mind  when  listening  to  this  song  is  Al  McGuire.  He  was  one  of  the  best  college  basketball  coaches  of  all  time.  He  had  a  saying,  “take  a  right  turn.”  Which  meant  instead  of  going  to  same  way  to  work  everyday  or  doing  the  same  things  everyday.  Do  something  that  you  usually  wouldn’t,  even  if  it  is  taking  a  left  turn  instead  of  a  right  and  see  where  it  takes  you,  change  things.    Lyrics/Verse

It's  these  changes  in  latitudes,  changes  in  attitudes

Nothing  remains  quite  the  same

With  all  of  our  running  and  all  of  our  cunning

If  we  couldn't  laugh  we  would  all  go  insane
