1. INTRODUCTION
Exploration Permit for Minerals (EPM10869) is located about 50 kms
East of Charters Towers and 15 kms SW of Ravenswood, in North
Queensland (Drawing No. 70013).
The permit is one of a group of 14 tenements in the Ravenswood
district over which exploration was managed and conducted by MIM
Exploration Pty Ltd (MIMEX) for the MIM Holdings Ltd group of
companies until December 2001, when MIMEX transferred management of
the Ravenswood EPM’s to Carpentaria Gold Pty Ltd. Carpentaria Gold
Pty Ltd which operates and manages the Ravenswood Goldmines.
The project area is being explored for sub-volcanic breccia
deposits (Mount Wright and Mount Leyshon types) and mesothermal
style gold mineralisation (Ravenswood, Sarsfield type).
Mineralisation is known to occur at a number of locations within
the tenements, within and adjacent to alteration zones and regional
structural features.
Under the previous management of MIMEX, a range of exploration
works have been carried out over a period of over 20 years. This
area of exploration lies mainly within a radius of 30kms from the
Ravenswood Goldmine. This wider area has been scrutinised mainly by
using stream sediment BCL gold geochemistry together with
aeromagnetic survey data to search for possible signatures of
significant gold mineralisation. Within a 5km radius of Ravenswood
and Mt Wright 200m x 200m BCL soil geochemistry has been used
together with ground magnetics and electrical geophysics (MIMDAS
& CSAMT). Intensive RC and diamond drilling programs have been
carried out in and around Ravenswood and Mt Wright with minor
drilling on a number of prospects in the surrounding areas.
Carpentaria Gold operating on a tight exploration budget and with
limited manpower and logistical resources has been relatively
restricted to drilling of advanced prospects, with a view to
providing mill-feed and upgrading existing resources.
Exploration over the 9 sub-blocks relinquished from this EPM has
been limited to interpretation of pre-existing datasets.
After a review of all geochemical, geological and other data, the 9
relinquished sub- blocks are considered to have minimal potential
to host economic mineralisation of interest to Carpentaria Gold Pty
Ltd.
2. LOCATION AND ACCESS
EPM 10869 is located 50kms East of Charters Towers and 15 kms SW of
Ravenswood. Access to the EPM is via the Flinders Highway from
Townsville to Mingela then via Burdekin Falls Dam road. Station
tracks provide general access throughout the area of the EPM.

3. TENURE
EPM 10869 comprising 67 sub-blocks was granted to Carpentaria Gold
Pty Ltd for a term of 5 years commencing on 31 January 1996. The
area of the tenement was reduced by 33 sub- blocks in January 1997,
and 16 sub-blocks in January 1999.
The area of the tenement was further reduced by 9 sub-blocks in
January 2003, leaving 9 sub-blocks.

4. PREVIOUS EXPLORATION
A number of companies have previously explored the area for both
precious and base metal mineralisation.
Cormepar Minerals Pty Ltd A to P 1169 & 1170 Poseidon
Exploration Limited EPM 7453, 7737 & 7881
A to P 1169 and 1170 - Cormepar Minerals Pty Ltd
Layton and Associates Pty Ltd carried out geological and
geochemical exploration programmes on behalf of Cormepar Minerals
Pty Ltd during 1973 and 1974.
Programmes included regional drainage geochemical sampling,
regional mapping and follow up soil and drainage sampling in
anomalous areas located during the regional surveys.
It was concluded that the targeted Mt Windsor Volcanics within the
tenement had little potential for economic volcanogenic massive
sulphide style mineralisation.
EPM 7737 - Poseidon Exploration Limited
( Partial Relinquishment Report for period ending 31 st January
2003 )
( June 2003 ) ( EPM 10869 “Kirkton” )
The tenement covered the Boori intrusive complex with porphyry
style gold mineralisation, the primary target.
As for other tenements in the Mount Canton Project area, work
undertaken included interpretation of regional geophysical data
sets, satellite imagery and a review of previous exploration
activities.
Follow up programs included regional BLEG drainage sampling, a
total of 25 samples and rock chip sampling, a total of 17 samples
during reconnaissance. No significant gold mineralisation was
detected from any of the work and it was recommended that the
tenement be surrendered in full.
EPM 7881 - Poseidon Exploration Limited
The tenement was previously part of EPM 5948 held Porphyry (1939)
Gold Mine NL, a wholly owned subsidiary of Normandy Poseidon
Limited. The area was reapplied for following favourable results
from work conducted on surrounding tenements.
The main target was buried porphyry gold mineralisation.
Work carried out included interpretation of regional airborne
magnetic and radiometric data, satellite imagery, photogeological
mapping at 1:25,000 scale and limited rock chip sampling during
reconnaissance work.
It was concluded that no significant target areas warranting
further evaluation existed and the tenure surrendered.
5. REGIONAL GEOLOGY
The area of EPM 13207 covers a portion of the Ravenswood Batholith,
the major element of the Ravenswood - Lolworth Province, which is
bounded to the north by the Broken River Province, with the
Drummond and Bowen Basins to the south. To the east is the
north-eastern part of the New England Fold Belt.
The batholith comprises Early Ordovician, Middle Silurian to Middle
Devonian and Middle Carboniferous to Early Permian intrusive
episodes of predominantly granite to granodioritic composition.
Host units to the batholith are the late Cambrian to Early
Ordovician volcanics and sediments of the Seventy Mile Range Group
and Early Palaeozoic Charters Towers Metamorphics, Argentine
Metamorphics and Kirk River Beds.
6. WORK COMPLETED BY MIM EXPLORATION PTY LTD
A total of 66 soil samples were taken on the relinquished part of
EPM10869. These samples were collected on a 200m x 200m grid by a
4WD mounted utility with
motorised auger drill. Approximately 4kg (–4mm) B/C horizon soil
was generally collected. This was analysed by Bulk Cyanide Leach at
ALS Townsville Laboratory, for gold and silver. The sample
locations are given in drawing No 70034, and as an excel file in
the appendix.
A helicopter borne magnetic survey was flown over part of EPM 10869
during April 1999. The processed data covering the relinquished
sub-blocks is shown in drawing No. 70033. Survey specifications are
set out below.

Aeromagnetic data over the relinqished part of EPM10869, spliced
with adjacent multyclient aeromag data. This data has been and is
currently being used to enhance geological and structural
interpretation.
7. CONCLUSIONS
Due to the lack of encouraging geology Geochemistry, magnetics etc,
the areas relinquished are considered to have minimal potential for
economic mineralisation of interest to Carpentaria Gold Pty
Ltd.
