through (usually 10X)

body tube – holds lenses at a certain distance

so both magnify

nosepiece – holds objectives

objectives – contain lenses of various magnification

stage – supports slide

stage clips – holds slide on stage

diaphragm – controls amount of light that enters stage

hole in stage – allows light to pass through stage

coarse adjustment – moves stage greater distances

fine adjustment – moves stage slightly

lamp – provides light

base – supports microscope

arm – holds objectives/body tube over stage
