Medientheorie: Postmoderne Kosmologie Virtueller Realitäten?

Medientheorie als Erkenntnistheorie
Formenanalyse: Nothing ever printed is as important as the medium of print
The medium is the message Geschichte der Menschheit als Geschichte der Medien 1. Preliterate Man: lebt in akustischem Raum, in mythischen
ungeteilten Kontakt mit seiner Umwelt 2. Educated Man: distanziert sich vom Kontakt mit seiner
Umwelt indem er körperliche Funktionen auf technische Geräte überträgt
3. Electric/Electronic Man: Mythisch im Selbstverständnis. Das Informationsnetzwerk ist sein Nervensystem

Medientheorie als Erkenntnistheorie
..all media are extensions of certain human talents - either psychical or physical. The wheel is an extension of the foot - the book an extension of the eye - the clothes an extension of the skin, the electronic circuit an extension of the central nervous system.
To the alerted eye, the frontpage of a newspaper is a superficial chaos of a very high order.
It does not make sense anymore to think linear, logical or coherent. It can even be dangerous.
Methode: Pattern Recognition – nichtlineare Logik, Aneinanderreihung von Fragmenten

Der große Treck gen Cyberspace
This big train in direction of the wild and golden west with the slogan 'Let's go west' had to stop in California, the most western place in the whole world. If you try to go on from there in direction west, you come to Japan and that is far east. – Cyberhobbit

Cyberia: Entdeckung der Vierten Dimension
Cyberia is the place alluded to by mystical teachings of every religion, the theoretical tangents of every science, and the wildest speculations of every imagination. Now, however, unlike any other time in history, Cyberia is thought to be within our reach. The technological strides of our postmodern culture, coupled with the rebirth of ancient spiritual ideas, have convinced a growing number of people that Cyberia is the dimensional plane in which humanity will soon find itself. - Douglas Rushkoff

Hyperreality: more realthan Reality
VR can make the artificial as realistic as, and even more realistic than, the real. For example, flight simulation, the most sophisticated and longest-standing application of VR, is more realistic than flying a real plane. Newly trained but fully able pilots take the controls of a completely loaded passenger plane for their first flight in a 'real' 747, because they have learned more in the simulator than they could have learned in the actual plane. – Nicolas Negroponte (in „Being Digital“)

Zeitreisen
As from a certain point in history, history was no longer real , instead there were the virtual realities of many histories. Without noticing it, all mankind suddenly left reality and mankind floated around in a time-space-continuum; everything happening since then was supposedly not true and we were able to travel through time, but we supposedly didn't notice.- Cyberhobbit

Die Macht der Medien

No Beginning, No End
For today, we celebrate the first glorious anniversary of the Information Purification Directives. We have created, for the first time in all history, a garden of pure ideology. Where each worker may bloom secure from the pests of contradictory and confusing truths. Our Unification of Thought is more powerful a weapon than any fleet or army on earth. We are one people. With one will. One resolve. One cause. Our enemies shall talk themselves to death. And we will bury them with their own confusion. We shall prevail!

Lyotard: Das Postmoderne Wissen
– Lyotard in „Das Postmoderne Wissen“ 1979
