BOBA’S DILEMMA
STORYLINE1. There was a kid named Boba. He was not quite fat, but his friends treat him like an
obese kid. He has an eating disorder and enjoys eating burger a lot.
2. One day, he saw a pretty girl on the street. He then realized that, to gain that girl’s attention, he had to be fit. So, he decided to lose weight.
3. Suddenly an angel popped out from nowhere, offering to help Boba lose weight without requesting any reward or favour in return. She introduced the food pyramid to Boba and told him to have a balanced diet.
4. He had a hard time following the food pyramid and decided to buy a burger instead. When he brought it home, he got scolded by his dad. Boba’s dad told him that he would reduce his allowance if he buys unhealthy food again.
5. Afraid of getting scolded, Boba got help from the angel. The angel taught him to separate the burger into different pieces and put in on a plate. When Boba’s dad entered the kitchen, he praised Boba for having a balanced diet.
1.SELF FULFILLING PROPHECY

already fat enough. Eating more would not make any difference.
2.EXTRINSIC MOTIVATION
DEFINITION : Tendency to take a certain action in response to external pressure or obligation. Might be done to avoid punishment or earn a specific reward.
Boba saw a beautiful girl one day. He then decided to lose weight so that he can gain the girl’s attention.

In the comic, the angel offers to help Boba lose weight by introducing him the food pyramid. She did not request for any
reward in return.
APPLICATION OF CONCEPT
4.OPERANT CONDITIONING
DEFINITION:
Operant conditioning is a method of learning that occurs through rewards and punishments for behaviour.
When Boba’s Dad saw Boba holding a burger, he was angry and scolded Boba. He told Boba that if he does not stop buying buying fast food, he
would cut down his pocket money.
APPLICATION OF CONCEPT
5.REPRESENTATIVENESS HEURISTICS
DEFINITION:
The representativeness heuristic is the tendency to judge the likelihood of an event or object based on existing prototypes that exists in our minds.
APPLICATION OF CONCEPT
When Boba’s dad saw his plate, he was praised for finally having a
balanced diet. But he did not realize that the food served on the plate
was actually the pieces separated from the burger he bought earlier.
