What are the benefits of a pet
license?
1. Your dog gets a longer care period. When found, your licensed pet will be safely cared for at the Dog Shelter for a longer time.
2. Found dogs are reunited quickly with their owner. The shelter phone number is on the license. If someone finds your dog, they can call the shelter’s phone number and/or bring the dog to the shelter.
3. License fees support the return of hundreds of lost dogs to their homes and help adopt hundreds of homeless dogs to new families every year.
4. Marion County relies on dog licensing revenue to help support the work of the dog control program, which rescues lost and injured dogs, handles dog complaints, and helps ensure the safety of the community through enforcement, education, and mediation.
